Fairly sure as the text clearly states 'ammonia worlds'. Still, if you go scan an ammonia gas giant and turn the scan in, that could help verify this.

This isn't off to a great start it seems. 300 contributors, I got into top 10% with 49 reports, and the progress bar hasn't moved a single bit. Goalposts set a little high maybe ?
Yeah... do the math. Typical CGs get about 6000 contributors. Assuming each one contributes equally, that means each one needs to scan 1500 ammonia worlds.
Assuming you can use a map to get 1 ammonia world per jump, plus 3 minutes to get to each ammonia world, that's 4.1 days of nonstop scanning to complete the CG.

Just done a route, fired my probes off at 15 planets and got 45 points landing me in top 10%
Are 3 points per planet the maximum you can get if they have already been discovered? I also fired off the DS in every system but doesn't appear to have given me any extra points for them.

Please make Undiscovered ammonia worlds be worth MUCH more than discovered ones.
In my prior exploration, I found about 20 ammonia worlds in a week of HEAVY searching.
Using a map of already discovered Ammonia worlds, I could easily find 1000+ ammonia worlds in the same timeframe.
Undiscovered Ammonia worlds should, therefore, give at LEAST 50x more points than discovered ones.

Have jumped to Coalsack Sector BW-V b2-5. Now jumping again to within 10 light-years of CG. CG system stuffed with carriers.

If I were to roleplay, I would think that all cartographic data would be useful to Sirius. Why?
Sure, pay more for ammonia worlds...but the company would also need to know which systems do not have what they want, to avoid going back and exploring them again.
As much as I very much prefer exploring as my playstyle, I think I'll pass.

Over 300 Mil. in carto data. If I go cash it in to get in the top 75%, exactly how much am I going to lose over the next two weeks when the carto payout is bumped to 2, 3, or 4X?

If any scanned system counts as 1 point - you simply sell only the cheap systems. And save the juicy ones
