News Support update - Reiteration of player harassment rules

Real life <> Game life, people that do greafing in games dont necessary are bad people in real life, they do it because its fun and you should try it.
And I am still waiting for roles clarification about harassment in this game, it seens there is no rules at all for open play.

When we cross paths between Virtual and Real sometimes we need to remember where 'Respect is due'!! charity live streams and events are generally there to selflessly serve the greater good of real life and often vulnerable people and those who attempt to disrupt these types of events for whatever reason have no morality; they may as well pop round to my house, wait for my son to come out and go kick him out of his wheelchair and smash it up just for giggles.

This might not go down well, and call me an old cynic, but I question whether all these charity streams are in fact a self less act or rather one of self promotion.

Been there, have the T-shirt wag http://evewho.com/pilot/Von+Lucifer saint by day in real life<> sinner by night in game, I have no problems with role playing that or of others who do; my specific beef is the grey area when you breach real life><game life by openly and disrespectfully humiliating charity event organisers on the world wide public internet stage and think its ok to openly brag of your exploits publically afterwards then use a forum to brag of it and assume good was gained from it; might be fun for watchers of the sniping player's twitch channel and those with similar mentality but who stops to think what viewers of the organiser's live channel might be experiencing, I for one turned off, embarrassed and in respect of the clearly distressed organiser, if others followed suit like me does that mean I can also make assumptions that it was not 'spiced up' and because of that less donations were received that night?

Because your right to play the game your way ends at the point where your entertainment explicitly comes from depriving others of theirs and enjoying their distress. It's very much the online equivalent of the old saying, "your right to swing your fist ends at my face". There's nothing wrong with PvP per se. But unrestricted PvP is not a license to be a jerk.

It's time for those who take pleasure in "mining salt" and think other people's "tears" are "delicious" to come to terms with the fact that these are just cutesy euphemisms for a much uglier but more blunt and accurate statement: "I enjoy having fun at the expense of others and laugh when I inflict distress on them".

That kind of abusive mentality and behavior has no place in society, and those who engage in it have no right to expect their toxic behavior to be tolerated just because the mechanics of the game allow it.

Wait a second. Frontier has said that "harassment" is about "context" and yet they have utterly failed to provide a any valid platform for a viable PVP context.

So by this definition ALL PvP action can be interpreted as "harassment, as long as one party claims it is. This is a 89 degree slope that has been buttered with silicon grease.

Frontier, get you stuff together and provide a valid PVP context,. and stop playing stazi. Because honestly it's absolutely no fun feeling like I'm playing with Zac watching over my shoulder and trying to justify each kill as a defensive RolePlaying exercise.

Also new changes to wanted status are joke its basically turning this game in WoW or Lineage care bear . if some one come to my home system and start to farm my ReS i cannot even blow him out becasue i will get wanted . now i cannot even blow his ship out in anarchy system becasue he will call me griefer ?
maybe we put "noob" protection systems or so also ? and carebear free hugs stations? if some oen shoot me down i dont cry lol i simply get sidewinder and go to another system where i got docked pvp ship comeback kill him problem solved. not run on forum and cry ... srsly this new multiplayer game community start to be more and more childlish . i remmeber mmo's like the Shadowbane whre u got actually exp and all backpacks of killed players , and what?? NO ONE CRY ON FORUMS every one got fun every one pay atention and use brains. now in times of noobs with consoles whoi thinks games should be easy and for everyone we got games that are basically full of human bots , to dumb or lazy to use brain , and basically without any skill, they even stream live on twich .. pathetic

You just insulted a very large part of the gaming community by basically calling all console players noobs. You even imply console players shouldn't have a right to the game. That console players think all games should be easy.. have you spoken to all the console players out there? And call them pathetic for streaming on twitch. Why would you do that? You come on here and complain about the rules while in the same post insult others for complaining on forums. Do you see the problem here? I would guess you do not. You should really think about what you're going to post before you start typing and leaving posts for the world to see. I play on consoles and I don't want my games to be easy. Just the other day they tried pulling me out of supercruise 16 times in an hour. Nearly causing me heat damage while my scans showed they were colder than i am normally.

The best thing ever to do to a griefers would be put them 50,000 ly from the bubble, and no way to self destruct, no ability to scan (so they can't profit), remove all optional modules except a fuel scoop (lowest rated), 1 fixed lowest rated beam laser.

And finally if they want back to the bubble they must A, fly back, or B wait till a time say 3 months, then can be moved back only if it's their first offense otherwise they can rot.

Would it be easier just to make a "Arena" System were there could be continuous tournaments, like championships of pvp where teams and single players could arise to be the top dog of PVP, each player could go there enter the tournaments and leave whenever he/she wanted/lost all of his ships, they could even do racing or hot dog tournaments where the prize would be the ships of the losers. that would be wonderful, even I would try an arena like that !

If CQC/Arena included non-combat competitions like racing I'd be much more inclined to participate. I'd also like Arena to be accessible in-game instead of through the menu. I don't like that it is presented as a separate game ... breaks my immersion, lol
