I spend the whole evening mining, and I think a can draw a nice resume now.
From the gameplay/execution side it is very well made. Really enjoable. The only thing in need of fixing is the aiming crosshair for the displacement Missiles and seismic Charges. They alway point to the centre of ship even when they are mounted on the side. So aiming becomes pure guesswork since the missile hits 40m from where I aimed.
From the payout:
- Sub-surface deposits: Hardly worth the efford. Its the same stuff I get from the lasers, but much less of it. A nice distraction by the side, but economicaly unsound.
-Surface deposits: For normal asteroids the same as above. The same stuff I get from lasering but much less and with much more efford. Its core-mining where this really starts to shine. Which brings us to
-Core Mining: Pretty good payout if you collect the surface deposits that are uncovered after the detonation. Very well made. Definetly the best part of the new mining system. Unfortunately cores are so rare, they might as well not exist. In 6 hours I found 5 cores, I used up 600 limpets for that. A real waste of development efford, why do you hide the best part of your work?
Oh, and these 'Hotspots'. I'll just assume they are bugged. I never, not once, found what they advertised. Not a single gram.
