@Vasious
It's a known bug. Go back inside your ship, relog and return to the chamber. Then the Thargoid Links should be visible.
Think i may investigate other systems that have been reported as hyperdiction systems, just an idea, could be hints that thargoid related things in system,
I've had hyperdictions when leaving other barnacle systems, and other Unknown structure systems..
Do hyperdictions show in Journal?
Pleiades Sector HM-V c2-10
A new Barnacle system located earlier on. Noted the system as a candidate, was hyperdicted and headbutted by a thargoid after attempting to leave system, Had to be a reason, so i came back to find barnacles there.

My eyesight is bad enough already, can you please use normal text colour?
Of course the funny thing about this is that if they are using the light theme they won't understand what you are talking about. And they won't see this at all![]()
Yes, you can detect them from journals - the tool in the alien interactions thread automates this. I think it uses the fact you end up with two consecutive jumps between the same systems in the logs to detect them.

Question I haven't been able to find an answer to yet: how was the barnacle forest found? Was there a clue leading to the planet, or did people just exhaustively scour the system the Gnosis was jumping to?

Something like activating the thargoid device, or maybe an uplink, at the surface site on a different planet in the system revealed the barnie forest location.
The list of known barnacle systems has grown once again.
This system has three small planets with a known good temperature. Thanks to the POI glitch discussed above we know (more or less) that all viable planets in a barnacle system feature barnacles.Pleiades Sector XE-Q b5-2 C 3

Small planets are relatively easy to scout; so if you think about venturing into the barnacle hunting business this system is a good place to start.
Two planets have iron resp silicate magma volcanism. Their surface temperature is 503K resp 431K. IIRC this is too hot for bark mounds or space pumpkins, correct?
New systemnice , will take a look there shortly.
Pumpkins, not enough info to know, but the Bark mounds it is possible. Cant remember if we had a full temp range for their possibility , 200k minimum , not sure on a max temp but 431k might be viable. I'll poke around there see if can find anything.
I've been informed Cmdr Robbie Junior has already scoured the system finding many, they should be on the metasheet sooner or later.
Currently investigating Pleiades sector VK-N B7-0, a known US system, B1 and B2 could be barnacle viable. Scouring to find one to confirm
Possibly silly question but,
Has anyone tried to use the new Xeno Scanner on the crashed ships (wspec. the older type) and/or barnacles etc?
They can only be targeted from the SRV.![]()
Alas yes, shame we can't do much research in a srv yet
FD, we need an AEGIS AX Srv, xenoscanner on board.
to learn more about about thargoid surface mysterious stuff
