Swapping PS4 account to PC

After the disappointing news yesterday, allied with the rubbish hotas options for PS4, I am seriously considering getting a PC to play Elite Dangerous. Is there any chance that a full account transfer (to PC) is a possibility? I don’t have much to do during this lockdown but I dread the thought of having to start from scratch, engineer unlocks, Guardian tech, rank grind, material grind etc.
If Inara can import my data and update it, is this really beyond FD?

I'm pretty sure FD can only transfer the credit value of your assets etc., so you'll have to do all the engineering stuff, rank unlocks and the like again.

I made that switch about 8 months ago

Can confirm the only thing that transfers is total asset value given in credits

All unlocks are lost (engineers, tech brokers) and all materials are lost as well.

U start off in ur sidewinder as a new person with ur ps4 daddy's money

This seems to indicate that they 'can only' :

We cannot move your copy of Elite Dangerous to another platform

Probably best to ping them a ticket to get an official answer

The PC experience is simply superior with ED, do it. I can't imagine not having TrackIR and good sticks/throttle. ED is one of my fave games of all time, and I would absolutely walk away if my only option was console play.

Unlocking the Engineers and Guardian stuff again, however, is soul torture. I did it once for my alt . . . all I can say is my heart goes out to you, CMDR. It helps to have some cold adult beverages on hand to soothe the irritation of grinding out the engineers' inane demands.

You might PM him and he can advise you on doing the switch. As I recall, he went from PS4 to PC eight or nine months ago and now has an FC.

Yep, had to start my new CMDR from scratch. I was able to later transfer my wealth from PS4 to PC by using said FC, but all the other stuff - engineering, ranks, etc. I had to do over. That said, I really didn't mind (except some of the grindy stuff like Fujin Tea) since I'm a minimalist who likes the smaller ships, and I'm happy with modest engineering (none of my ships are G5 everything). And since my CMDR names are very close - OneOldDuck on PS4 and Old Duck on PC, I kinda sorta keep my old discovery tags, too!
