Switching account from Steam to Frontier launcher

Ok for all those guys out there to whom Explorer is only a role in ED:

You can simply go to the directory designated as your steam library with the Windows explorer (or the finder for the Maccies) and drill down until you find EDLaunch.exe. This is your starter portal.

As for buying things: just don't go to the store from in game but just go to frontierstore.net, login and buy whatever you like.

Steam would still get their share of the profit though, regardless if you use it to launch the game or buy cosmetics. Once your account is tied to steam they'll always get money for it.

Correct! Upon entering the store via the outfitting it prompts me to login using the steam log and pw.

You can also buy cosmetics via Frontierstore.net but they still give some money to steam.

If you want a mod (not the admins) to move your posts/threads around, use the "Report Post" link at the bottom of each post. That will get you to a page where you can send a note to the (volunteer) mod team. Admins don't get involved with that.

Access of ED via Frontier's launcher from ones steam account was nerfed April 25th 2019. Though one can still down load the Frontier launcher; Installing it will result in a code being sent to your email. Inserting the code will result is a message stating you must purchase a copy.
End of story!

If you are going to necro a thread at least make your information correct.

The access was not changed on 25th April for ALL Steam accounts it was changed for ACCOUNTS PURCHASED ON STEAM AFTER 25th April. So if someone had purchased E D from Steam before that date they can still bypass the Steam interface as per this thread.

(By bumping a thread from last year you actually make it more likely to be seen by people who purchased after the cut-off date and perhaps induce the confusion which you suffered.)

(I do wish F D would lock these old threads.)

Your correct, I failed to insert that piece of data. I stand corrected. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

What I did was delete the Steam install 1st, then login to the website with your account, download, and install
