T6 Vs T9

http://www.edshipyard.com/

This is a web site that will allow you to do a fast comparison on ships and the cost to set them up. I have a Type 9, it is a slow (yes I mean SLOW) ship to fly. If you are going any distance expect to make lots of jumps, the Type 9 has a small jump range - Oh, did I mention it's slow?

sasani and DidierDrbros has given the best recommendation that I've seen so far.

I think the progression is t6 - Asp - t7 - Python - Conda... - sasani

If you want the T7, go commodity, forget rares. - DidierDrbros

Type 9 is good for commodity only - no jump range for doing rares. It can be a good ship to make credits, but because it handles like a pig and short jump range I suggest you hold out for the Conda (like sasani said). Each time you buy and then sell a ship you lose part of what you have invested, so skip investing in the Type 9 and save for the Conda. Oh, and don't forget that if you have upgraded anything on your current ship (and your going to sell it) - sell all modules you can and downgrade modules you can't - you end up walking away with more credits this way.

Well i bought the T9 well below 100 mill.
It rely is not a problem if you can do in system trading like i do.
dump the shields for more credits. its stupidly cheep to repair.
arm it wit missiles for occasional bounty hunting :)

you can sell most your modules and downgrade the rest to get your money back.

Because of the nature of Rare trade runs, I'd go the Asp.
If you are after pure haulage the Yak7 has it, but the Asp has ample room for Rares (Have 80 cargo in mine) and has a deadly jump range to quicken your deliveries.
Also doubles for a brilliant Explorer when the mood takes you. It's the only ship I have never sold, just because it's so versatile.
