Newcomer / Intro Text Cut Off On Left Side Of Map Screen

Hello,

Noob here.

When I'm in the system map the first few letters of all the left hand text is cut off by the edge of my screen. Do I have the wrong resolution for the game or is there some other way to fix this? Thanx.

EDIT: I tried changing the screen resolution on my monitor to match the game's top res of 1280 x 720. Had the same problem. Same issue on the galaxy map btw.

Maybe think again about what you are setting in options and post a screenshot of your issue. I run at 2560x1440 and can run at my monitor's native 3840x2160 (but don't for performance reasons) so where you get your "... game's top res of 1280 x 720" from I know not.

What is your FOV setting? Maybe there's a bug in how galmap handles resolution and if your FOV is too low or high, it can cut off part of the screen.

Also, I would check the automatic scaling feature of your GPU.
If you have nVidia, right-click on the desktop and select "nVidia control Panel". In the "Change Resolution" tab, check if the resolution you're running has (native) behind it and that you are, in fact, running the correct resolution.
Then go to "Adjust desktop size and position" tab, select "aspect ratio" and change the "perform scaling on:" value from "Display" to "GPU".
Hit the "Apply" button that appeared at the bottom of the window.
That should eliminate any cut-off pieces of the display, even if you are running a non-native resolution, although if you have set a different aspect ratio than your monitor's native one, you will have black bars either on the sides (if your resolution is narrower than your monitor) or on the top and bottom (if you set a wider resolution than your monitor can display).

There are similar settings possible if you have an AMD card, but I can't provide a detailed step-by-step as I don't have an AMD rig at hand, atm.

Thanks everybody for the help!

Chris Simon, changing my nvida setting to gpu did the trick! Thanks so much!

Para Handy, you are so right. The game resolutions go waaaay higher than 1280 x 720. Because I'm such a dippy noob I didn't see the scroll bar on the right. When I clicked on the field it only shows the first few options and 1280 x 720 was at the bottom of the field. This made me think it was the highest res available which seems stupid even to me in hindsight.

Thanks again everyone for the help!
