Thanks for free ARX Fdev

I'll echo the OP

... allowed me to paint my Python olive green. :)
Tactical olive is already a color for the python, is it not?

People on forums are just so stupid. Cosmetic microtransactions were part of Elite since.. well forever. After they gave the players an ability to get FREE store money (and make it easier to unify it across the platforms), people went apepoop. Sure it's more visible now, but it's still just cosmetics, no advantage gained there. If you can't control your urge to swipe your moms credit card, then it's your issue not FDevs. But hey, seems there really is no limit to stupidity of people on the net :/

People on forums are just so stupid. [...]

Case in point? :p

Are you intentionally misunderstanding why people complained back then? It was not because players got the change to get cosmetic items for free. Is was because in a year with pretty much no game content Frontier still found the time to double down on the vanity shop and royally screwed up the game for a long time. People came to the forum to report their game keeps crashing and got "be thankful for free Arx" thrown into their face by other forum users.

It's no surprise to me that Arx now suffers from a bad connotation.

I guess they have to make money somehow. But it really feels like: “Cigarettes - now with more nicotine!” or “Fruit Loops - Now with more sugar!”

The mechanic is truly intended to boost sales using addiction. I’m really glad I don’t tend towards addiction. It would be really bad for me in today’s gaming environment.

Absolutely, I don't disagree. But I don't tell people they should be grateful for getting to watch the new commercials of company XY.

Well, I see where you're coming from except that you can't take an advert into the store and trade goods with it. Free ARX is just that, fee Are. You save them up, you spend them. I wouldn't tell anyone to be grateful for free ARX but I dismiss all the complaints I've ever heard about them.
