Thanks to the Code (Why I play in Open)

So I'm at the trade CG, in Open. Why? Because there are other players out there (and everything that can represent). I like the risks, the interactions and I like testing my own skills and loadouts. That would not be possible outside of Open. Unscripted play is the kind I enjoy!
Thank you to members of the Code for their expert Piracy. Was totally worth the 60 tonnes!
Also, thanks to the commander in the FAS for not destroying my ship. I would not have held it against you if you had. Recently, I've changed up my hotas as the other set was acting up, so I'll have to get my skills up to par again. These were the first two times I've been successfully interdicted in my T7. Well done commanders!

Shame I didn't remember to press record on the first interdiction.
And again:

A few more of these and my interdiction defense skills will be up to par again.

Sounds like a good reason to do solo. Thanks for the heads up.

Each to thier own I guess, not that I've watched the vid, but people who RP the pirate and do a bit of POD (pay or die) action are ok in my book, not that I would do a CG in open mind you it's not my thing, just cant be arsd with the others that dont RP anything and do it for the lolz.

I do feel this thread might go the way of so many others that start along the lines of "Hey open is great look....." for better or for worse this will no doubt be another open vs solo slagathon, but if the OP is having fun then that's what matters most .:D

Yeah, I hope it doesn't devolve into an us vs them thing. I was just sharing some of the more enjoyable moments I've had lately and that they could only happen in Open. I have no issues with those who avoid that sort of interaction. If you haven't watched, it's just me being pirated.

Could you explain what you do when an pirate NPC take you and demand for cargo?

What is the difference between NPC pirates demanding for cargo and human players demanding for cargo?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tank you Cmdr Ozram we need players like you in this game.

Good job crewmates, I'm waiting you at the tavern there are good girls and rum.
Yaaaarrrrr

All that the Code has ever managed to do was tell me creative ways to kill myself before their impotent ships with incompetent pilots were swatted . Along with being told to kill myself came accusations of me being a roll rigger back when cheaters were at large. Frankly that hurt my feelings more than any suggested method of suicide.

Heck I could respect most groups. Many have come aboard and been civilized But only members of the code have been such basic human beings as to be triggered into screaming and yelling at me when they came aboard my ship. (I really wish I was kidding) So the Code doesn't particularly impress me to put it lightly.

I did solo until I got a reasonable ship and now Im always in open, if u cant handle the pirates then fine by me to go solo but its part of the game so live with it

Who are you responding to?

Sorry to hear it. My experiences were positive.

Sounds like a quality control issue.

I do hope all of the effort put forward by players to spruce up open's reputation has some effect. I remain unimpressed, but here's to hoping.

See, this is it - having a sporting chance of survival stops such encounters from being aggravating.

Being smooshed for literally no reason, when you present literally no challenge, with not even a warning to leave before you get whooped, now thats what will drive players away from Open.

For starters, NPC pirate don't create a new forum account to avoid cabbages.
