Thargoid Attacks: Where, When and What you can do about it

IDA mounted a rescue operation to Cyllene Orbital. I'm hoping for it to have a strong effect on the repair totals.

Is that really a thing? I suppose there's nothing in game to see rescue progress while the station is still burning. Just start running rescues and hope for the best?

Edit: To clarify, I'm asking is if doing station rescues will help when it come time for repairs? One of our owned stations is currently on fire and if there should be rescue operations working right now.

No one's really sure about that. IDA decided to monitor the rescue missions. So every pilot that does one, reports it on discord. People joined massively. Mostly rescues from Cyllene Orbital (Atlas).
So we will see, if when the station goes into repair mode, if the repair totals are lower then usual... Hope so...

Quick question as i was away for few months . I got to Atlas in my AX Corvette, i found bunch of what looks like permanent NHSS with different threat levels and they are all empty . Why?

Trying to find scouts... been all over, any ideas?

thanks in advance

Go to within 175 LYs of Merope (but preferably within 125 LYs) & just drop into any random systems, the nearer Merope the more their tend to be, their are (or were at least) a few systems which have no NHSS at all, even within that range!
Then look for NHSS threat 3 (2 scouts) or threat 4 (4 scouts), you can find NHSSs with 8 scouts (I can't remember if they are threat 5 or 6), but you are much more likely to find a Cyclops or Basilisk in them! Although if you did, you could just jump straight out again. If you're in a medium sized ship, 8 scouts can be quite a challenge!

LTT 911 is now down to Significant presence. Thanks all the individuals and other PGs that have come out to help us so far. o7

Question though.......if we don't run them off is every station in the system at risk with this new incursion state? It used to be one station and that was it but not really sure how it works now.

Looks like the only other station you will lose is Brunel - they only attack orbitals with L pads. You will lose that on Thargsday, unless you can clear them beforehand. And if things work as they 'should'.

Do you just go to LTT 911 and enter whatever NHSS you like to help out, or....?

It's all AXCZ work. Lots of scouts to mow down but Interceptors show up after a little while. Unless it's a Cyclops we usually just stay away from interceptors for as long as possible then jump out. Besides countering an incursion is all about kill numbers. Scouts are the best/easiest target.

Okay, thanks.

With Thargday tomorrow, all hands to the pump tonight i guess! Wondering if they will hit Sol finally, that would probably get a few more people involved at least hopefully.

Happy hunting CMDR’s

Update from Will on the way Incursions are intended to work:

Hello there,

We wanted to give you a brief overview of the current design intention regarding [Thargoid] Incursion states:

The current mechanic places a number of systems in a hidden state (not shown on the Galaxy Map) Pending Incursion, however, there are in-game ways of identifying which systems these are. If the community fail to defend against and eliminate enough Thargoids in one of these systems, that system will then progress into the Incursion state, visible on the Galaxy Map.

Eagle Eye updates every Thursday, and anything outside of this date sounds like a bug, so be sure to report it.

Hope that helps!
