Thargoid Attacks: Where, When and What you can do about it

In theory it sounds great, unfortunately we have no real evidence of supply lines that we can hit. Essentially we only get to attack them at a time and place of their choosing. There is one possibility though, the barnacles seem to be important to them and some people claim that they are proliferating. Perhaps if we 'harvest' the barnacle forests it might have some effect.

Looking at Galmap it looks like a supply line of sorts if you look at destroyed stations. Perhaps harvesting the barnacles or repairing the stations supply are usually important in any kind of warfare.

Fighting on their terms isn't an ideal and doesn't seem to work. Surely there is mechanism to turn the tide but maybe not.

Now that the Station is burning in 32 C Piscium, we have thargoid massacre missions on the rescue ship! These folks in 3304 are a lot like my fellow countrymen in 2018. Only when things are already burning, we try to do something to prevent it!

So we did manage to kill enough to prevent it. Last two nights killings didn't do it.. dam

I have a feeling that most will start caring after a good chunk of Human space will have its space stations burning.

Is there a rescue ship in Piscium?

Trying to keep both systems this week. Anyone still in Piscium needs to move on to this week's systems ideally

Install the EDMC plugin if you want your kills counted o7

I jumped into Deriv-Dar and flew all these 124k ls along towards Duckworth City where I landed. This system is crowded with NHSS of all kind from 3 to 8. I noticed that a Thomas Class Bulk Cargo Ship SOD-6497 is present. Planet C9 is an Ammo-World.

Jumped over to SPOCS 253 which has an Ammo-World (B4). No NHSS sighted on my long way to the starport.

You can land a big ship in Dervi at the nearer ground base. No shipyard there though.
The ground base does sell xeno scanners and decon.

Depends on what you mean by a good chunk. On present trends, worst case scenario we lose 104 stations in a year. There are more than 20 000 inhabited systems. the point where people start caring could be years away. If we go by some of the more pessimistic interpretations of the semi-mythical '10 year plan' , the servers will be switched off long before most people start caring about the Thargoid threat.

Woah, Deriv-Dar is just 2 jumps from my 'home' shipyard!
Heading there in my Python.

......and I forgot about the fire damage EDMC plugin! Now installed.

Wouldn't bother with it actually - LCU has put much of the functionality into his USS plugin.

Might want to check out how close LP is as well, they're both pretty close to Sol

Oh ok, well I've been using LCUs plugin for months now, it's very good :), but does it log Thargoid kills? And if so, where? Same spreadsheet as your plugin?
Might wanta update your op ;).

Oh & the LP system is much further from my home shipyard than D D is.

Yeah, logs your kills. I think he stores the info in the same spreadsheet.

I have spent about 1 hour travelling around Deriv-Dar. I was unable to find any interceptor. Many scouts in NHSS threat 3, 4, 5 and 6, but no interceptors.

It is quite sad when you bring a heavy type 10 to a thargoid infested system... to have to run away from 12 scouts because you have no turrets to focus fire on them :S.

Having a blast in LP 581-36 - "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe, Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of NN 4305B"

Ah, rep for the reference. One of the best movie moments of my life.

Wait, so I need to haul my to LP and start shooting...

I've been sniping them with guardian gausses, but it definitely is no fun. Perhaps fixed AX MCs might make it a bit easier. AX fighter with a good pilot helps.

I don't like the fact that scouts and interceptors demand a different set of weapons but we'll just have to adapt.

There is now a Special Report on 'Anticipating the Path of the Thargoid Advance' on the Sagittarius Eye website:
http://www.sagittarius-eye.com/special-report-anticipating-the-path-of-the-thargoid-advance/
Hopefully this will attract more interest in both dealing with the Thargoids in the systems currently at risk as well as getting people to look for NHSS elsewhere, in case there are Thargoid advance scouting parties or megaships passing through the Bubble or other systems at risk that were not identified by Eagle Eye. It would be interesting indeed if we could intercept the Thargoid forces before they are in position to attack...
