Thargoid Attacks: Where, When and What you can do about it

This. I find it rather worrying that human transmitters are found in the vicinity of each station starport that gets attacked on next Thursday. Could be Thargoids are able to clone human technology, but if not, some human puts them there, and that one knows which starport is next on the attack list, but without communicating that info in any way. No emergency plans, no evacuation missions until the Xenos actually strike. Might as well be the Club, I'd say, or possibly the ones behind the Black Flight thing.

Anyway, been hunting Scouts in Deriv-Dar for the last two days in the vicinity of Davy Terminal (124k ls out), but didn't notice any transmitter close by (don't have a TL though). The system is full of NHSS 4-7, used a Viper IV with MCs/beams and an FGS that also runs two Gauss canonns to great success. Drop of water on a hot plate, but at least I tried. At their current pace, the Thargoids will hit Sol in about two weeks, that could well get interesting :D

Unfortunately, can't run the plugin to report my kills, as I'm playing in VR and don't use EDMC.

Can't use EDMC because of VR?

Btw, has anyone scanned these NPC ships to see what cargo their carrying?

Have been doing this for a while now while hunting scouts in Deriv-Dar. Cargo I've found so far:
-Fruits and Vegetables
-Animal Meat
-Resonating Seperators
-Marine Equipment
-Antiquities
-Grain
-Tea
-Wine
-Beer
-Water
-Coffee
and one had 24 Tourists on board.

A bit disapointing I must admit.

Disapointing indeed. Again FD has brilliant ideias but the execution is poor. Or maybe Tea is causing malfunctions to their ships...

Oh well, i killed 100+ scouts last couple of days at LP 581-36, lets see what happens tomorrow!

I'm dragging ~8 scouts to Nespoli Orbital right now!
282 m/s seems to do it ;), I'm 655 kms away atm, I want to see if the station will help :D, anyone wanta join in when I get there?

My hull is down to 63%, but the real problem is that all my weapons are intermittently failing!

[edit] Noooooooooo!!!!!! Frack sake! I don't quite know what happened, but at about 400-500 Km away my bloody PC just shut down! , so scrap that! :(
And strangely my hub shut down too, at 1st I thought it was a brief power cut, but the lights didn't go out, so I'm wondering if the mains adapter/surge protector their both connected to is playing up, would be a 1st if it is......
And another strange coincidence, my blood sugars dropped low at the same time! Thargoids gettin to me?? ;)

Which of those things is the one that is giving the comms guy the creeps?

Either it is the antiques or the tourists.

I got some to Acton dock. Bit annoying that I get fined for defending the station.

Lol, typical!

Did it shoot the scouts?
Btw is that a station or starport?

Turns out my PC shutting down was a brief power cut, the clock in the bedroom had lost its time, although the cooker hadn't!

Spocs 253 is crawling with NHSS today. Yesterday it was clear of NHSS and in Boom, now it is in Outbreak. I flew 400Kls out to the large space stations to look for a Transmitter but have not been able to find one around any of them, although I don't have a Thargoid Link. I'll check some other systems later today for NHSS.
.
Deriv-dar made it through OK but LP 581-36 did not. I think there were similar levels of support? If so, then this might tell us more accurately how much we need to do to prevent a Thargoid strike in future.

That's the starport that got blown up this morning. Ooopsie!

The starport ships will kill the goids by themselves. I didnt notice the starport itself shooting them.

I picked up a fine for shooting in the no fire zone

Spocs 253 is full of NHSS 3-6, all Scouts in varying numbers. Killed 23 of them for the sake of humanity, more to come tomorrow. Oh, and the LCU plugin is really cool, just hope I used it right :D

One major thing puzzles me more and more: so far, after all these weeks with attacks on starports, no-one neither has ever witnessed such an attack nor was it ever recorded.

Why is this so?

By the time, we all know how painstaking it is to attack a single Medusa. We know how big and strong weapons must be to and what skill is needed to attack larger ships. And no-one has ever survived an attack on a starport.

So what kind of device must it be to cause such a damage on a starport as we see it now? Who or what is coming out of disguise and is abel to destruct such a large station within seconds? Who is smashing such large amounts of green slime on stations without destroying them at all?

What huge kind of ship or creature must this be? Why is it always disappearing without a trace and never seen elsewhere? What kind of strategy is this? Who does this at all?

Ive seen footage of an attack. At least three interceptors triggering the shutdown field simultaneously take down the starport defenses.

Ive seen the local cops shoot scouts and they do ok but there is no way they are equipped to take down interceptors.

I think we only know how the attacks are carried out from the 'Fall of the Oracle' video. AFAIK, three Interceptors are sufficient, EMP-ing the starport and then focusing on the main reactor.

Ingame, the attacks cannot be watched. The station lives happily until 6:59 GMT on Thursday and comes up burning after the server reboot.

Yes, I know this video, it was broadcasted for promotion purposes. But ingame: nope. And the Thargs we have met so far never attacked us with slime directly (?) like in the video, only with the help of these rockets since the Marauders appeared. What is so difficult for FDev to program such an attack ingame? Or is there a special purpose behind that they don't do it? Why aren't we allowed to fight against Thargs directly who/which are just attacking a starport?
