Thargoid Attacks: Where, When and What you can do about it

So I had one last go in 63 G. Capricorni before the tick- tried the James Class megaship 'cos it attracts space spiders (and also apparently jumps even though its damaged - if anyone knows its flight plan would be interesting to see where/state it shows up next.... creepy ghost/stupid ship of doom/incompetence ... lol - see this for details)

Here's how it went:

First this showed up - and I'm not too proud to say I ran away!

Then I tried again and this showed up:

And so I neutralized it :D - my first time with Gauss load out (clearly need to do better!)

But then I got this (wasn't paying attention at all to the progression - pleasant surprise:D)

And so am now this

Guess I need to try out CQC!

Fun times

Congrats! I know I'm throwing a s...load of exp points away into my SLF pilot but I don't care, having that chatter around brings more joy (to me) than elite ranking.

Totally agree - I wasn't even paying attention - and don't worry my SLF pilot (Julia) got plenty ranked up as well. We're heading to the bar now, but it's strictly business [wink]

Good system for TG hunt and other stuff

If you are looking for some good system for tg hunt and with good station - restock, repair, shipyard, near to the star, it is HIP 16753 and station Goya Landing 45 ls :O from the star. This is good when you head to the station often, other stations are more than 500 ls.

Cheers :p

I'm not seeing any new stations that have been attacked, nice work everyone! Now if only Aegis would stop calling the Thargoids to attack the stations, we might not have to deal with them anymore.

There is a wrecked Bowman Class Science Mega-Ship in Dalfur, just inside the ice rings (planet 10?). There were clear signs of Thargoid damage, the green cloud, and data logs about how the "things" wanted their stuff back.

No Thargoids were present during my 4 to 6 minute visit, but NHSS were all around.

Apparently there are interceptors at both locations - a first I understand as usually there is a split - stay frosty!

LTT 8517 is full of NHSS 3 to 6! It really takes some time to enter all the data into EDMC.

Once you jumped into the system the navigation window shows:

- a convoy emergency signal. If you jump in, you'll meet a huge convoy as if half of the system is fleeing!

- a debris field. I jumped in but found nothing but two materials. A bit disappointing.

- an emergeny signal without any threat level. Attention! If you jump in, a Medusa which is not hostile says hello, scans you and then continues its business. It is interested in the wrecks of some Clipper and an Imperial Battle Cruiser. Interesting: a lot of container are floating about, all of military origin, some even contain nerve agent! So what ought to be transported from where to where?

- a Henry Class Bulk Cargo Ship SOD-164. If you fly there you'll find that this huge ship was attacked for the contents of one single container labelled "VODEL Scarab" only! I looked around and found another two container of this enterprise, all the many other container seemed to be intact. And there was no green slime to be seen on the ship or elsewhere ! So it was not a Thargoid attack!

Question: who is carrying "goods" across the Galaxy which are of interest for Thargoids and someone else? So far, there were two enterprises whose container were attacked: Caine-Massey, Brewer (these two very often) and now Vodel. Ok, it sounds a bit like tinfoil hattery but this happened again and again and it might mean nothing but maybe it becomes more important in the future, who knows?

Advice on where to go:

Based on Traffic Stats:

pubchart

Advice: Support Dalfur

Current estimates say we will lose Dalfur (caveat - it is very early in the week)

Based on EDMC Data:

pubchart

Note:
* EDMC data is a smaller sample of CMDRs - check thread if you want to contribute (requires EDMC / PC only)
* Traffic stats cover all CMDRs and have been a better predictor in previous weeks. Underlying data here. This week is more challenging as LTT has a naturally higher level of traffic, so it's possible that not all the traffic is defending the system.

You can find Massacre missions on the Aegis Megaships which are nearby - these might contribute to saving the systems, we do not know. Acropolis is in Vanir, Vanguard is in Aongi. Aongi might help Dalfur, Vanir might help LTT. Either is better than nothing, probably!

Bowman Class Science Vessel HAL-6771 has interesting ship uplink. Dalfur 10

Sounds a bit like a trap "You knew they'd come looking for this thing..."

What thing? Are they luring 'goids? Mind boggles (a tiny bit). Don't have the right drones to search this thing completely. Maybe later...

Current estimates say we will win both (caveat - it is early in the week). Dalfur looks more marginal.
