Thargoid Attacks: Where, When and What you can do about it

QUESTIONS REGARDING NEW AXCZs

I have a Vulture that can fight Scouts all day long (at least until I run out of decon limpets), but I'm rubbish at fighting the bigger "flowers". When I go to an AXCZ, it starts off with scouts. After killing a number of these, somebody warns about Interceptors. This is when I hightail it out of there.

Now here's the interesting thing - if I leave the CZ and immediately turn around in supercruise and come back, the entire CZ is reset, as if I was never there to begin with. This is rubbish for immersion, but it does let me "rewrite the rules" Captain Kirk style, as I'm given a fresh wave of scouts to fight. By repeating this fight-run-fight-run routine, I kill a significant number of scouts and make a load of credits (relatively speaking) through combat bonds, especially since I get a 100,000 credit bonus when the Interceptors arrive.

So here are my questions. First, how does all of this work with the state of the incursion? Is it purely a numbers game? More specifically, is it the value of the combat bonds or the number of ships destroyed that matter? If the latter, does killing a scout count the same as killing a Cyclops, or is each enemy weighted based on difficulty?

Second, what happens when somebody does finish the CZ? I never will, LOL, but I'm just curious to what the "you win!" looks like for beating all the Thargoids. I assume the CZ resets as soon as you leave and come back, regardless whether you "win" or not. Does "winning" matter more than just killing Thargoids when it comes to the incursion state?

We still dont know the exact mechanics of these new BGS states (Infestation and Incursion) but the information that has been passed along is that kills count towards clearing Infestation/Incursions. Not bonds, not AXCZs completions, but any kills. And scouts count the same as an interceptor. Maybe we're wrong... dont know for sure. Factabulous has better intel than me, but this is what been passed along AX pilots.

Also, have you tried to stick around an AXCZ after you have restarted it and after you hear the message of interceptors coming? The second time you hear it, they dont show, leaving an endless spam of scouts. You cannot complet it, even if the progress bar reaches the end, but at least you dont need to keep reseting the CZ. I havent tried it in the last couple of weeks, but it used to work...

I have never seen the "you win" sign so far. As long as I fight in the AXCZs I only see a white bar on the top right reaching its end and then it stops moving further no matter how long I continue to fight the next waves.

But I have another question. At the moment, it looks as if we cannot win because the number of incursions grows exponentially. What if we concentrate only on the EE systems with infestation? Fighting for one week only in these systems must have an effect though we neither can see it nor measure it. The next Tharg Day would show the effect. The systems in incursion would stay in that state and if they have another star port, it would be attacked, of course. But if we could succeed in the infested systems, wouldn't the Thargs being trapped in the incursed systems? Am I wrong? Am I naive? Have I misunderstood the whole thing? Or is it worth a try?

Please enlighten me!

won a few yesterday - you've got the littlies - few wings of them, then a pair of biggies at the start and usually one more after - we got the lot then a hydra came in, but the scenario completed after killing all 3 biggies and we got a 5m bonus in cash.

I have twice had the 5million cred bonus, both times there were still very angry interceptors on the scene. If it counted as a win (bar was full and got the bonus), it sure didnt feel like one! My Krait was properly broken both times by then.

This seems a good idea to me. We are spread way too thin.

Eagle Eye signals have changed again. This time they are the same as last Thursday:

EE1 Celaeno - (was judumlia)
EE2 Atlas - (was camulus)
EE3 Asterope - (was Anca)
EE4 Apishna - (was ltt 911)
EE5 GQ Virginis - (was ltt 5455)
EE6 HIP 24046 - (was ross 409)

All of these were attacked today and already have incursions AFAIK. Bizarre.

This sounds like a plan, or is there something I'm missing too?
Although how would the AX pilots be assigned to the different systems? (until FDev fix the infestation flag).
Is the number of infested systems restricted to the number of EE LPs??

Btw guys, worth adding your voices to the bug thread Ninj created regarding the infestation bug & incursions issues.

On a different note, I left my Python in Artemis lodge, Celaeno 2 nights ago, I hope I don't get a CTD tonight! - Nope!, safely docked at the rescue ship :).

[update] This is weird, there are no AX CZs in Celaeno.......

System is broken, it won't work. 6 new systems added to the EE just before the server reset day. None of them had NHSS and 5 of them went Incursion. Plus we have no way to tell if a system is cleansed from Infestation.
Either it's bugged in a horrible way or FDev is just playing their own game, preparing something poorly.

Just finished an AX CZ. Basically, we had the normal waves of scouts, then a Basilisk (Tier II Interceptor) and a pair of Cyclops (Tier I Interceptors). When those were dead, we had five more minutes of fighting scout waves, my wingmate jumped out and in and we got the 5M Cr bond for finishing the CZ. At that point, I had made 19,770,000 Cr in one battle.

Then a Hydra (Tier IV interceptor, biggest baddest green boi on the block) popped in, and we high-tailed it. Just to make it clear, an armed-to-the-teeth Cutter/Anaconda combo and ~8 AX Defense Force Ships didn't stand a chance against that lone Hydra.

I was fighting with my friend 2 days ago on AXCZ (HIP 23395), after 30min progression bar hit 100% and then next 20min nothing happend, we where still fighting with TGoids, after 60min of fighting we just abandon this.
Looks like mechanics are totally broken, I just get back to base system do other things.
Even if I clean some NHSS where the f* I see some kind of progression? Am I close to some kind of victory or not?
I feel that whatever I do my inpact on the game is non, null, 0, 0.0000000 and that really crap.

The mechanics - what it is? Has this even been created?

No, your impact isn't 0, it is something (as long as you're fighting in the infested/incurred system) , but the trouble is we have no idea what that something is.
The AX CZ you were in got bugged (assuming you ended up with nothing but scouts), what should happen is what happened to Hagglebeard.

I got a bugged cyclops in an NHSS last night, it pretty much had permanent lightening attack after a short time (even when I turned quickly back after boosting away), it's bad enough that attack is OP in the 1st place, but to get it multiple times is ridiculous . Although I mostly avoided it I had to high tail it out after killing the 3rd heart with ~30% hull. Whereas previous solo fights with those I won with 45-60% hull left.

At this exponential rate, very soon both the galaxy and the game will be too infested with bugs to play.

Only if you insist on flying large ships. Thargoids don't seem to care about orbital outposts, so me and my Dolphin have little to worry about, assuming RNG favors me when it comes to hyperdiction.

Please tell me how to save HIP 23395?

Our forces are:
3 full engineered ships with Guardian modules and weapons (KraitII, Corvette and Cutter) maybe two more half done.
Full PvP wing without any Guardian crap but fully engineered
Bunch of PvE guys with fully eng or half eng ships. Around 6 people.

What can we do? And where we will see daily progress?

Kill as many Thargoid ships as possible in HIP 23395 and keep your fingers crossed.
That seems to be where we are at. I will be there later (on PS4), doing exactly that!

Well... that's not enough.
I can't convince so many people by this.

To fight and keep finger crossed I could have max 3 people
