QUESTIONS REGARDING NEW AXCZs
I have a Vulture that can fight Scouts all day long (at least until I run out of decon limpets), but I'm rubbish at fighting the bigger "flowers". When I go to an AXCZ, it starts off with scouts. After killing a number of these, somebody warns about Interceptors. This is when I hightail it out of there.
Now here's the interesting thing - if I leave the CZ and immediately turn around in supercruise and come back, the entire CZ is reset, as if I was never there to begin with. This is rubbish for immersion, but it does let me "rewrite the rules" Captain Kirk style, as I'm given a fresh wave of scouts to fight. By repeating this fight-run-fight-run routine, I kill a significant number of scouts and make a load of credits (relatively speaking) through combat bonds, especially since I get a 100,000 credit bonus when the Interceptors arrive.
So here are my questions. First, how does all of this work with the state of the incursion? Is it purely a numbers game? More specifically, is it the value of the combat bonds or the number of ships destroyed that matter? If the latter, does killing a scout count the same as killing a Cyclops, or is each enemy weighted based on difficulty?
Second, what happens when somebody does finish the CZ? I never will, LOL, but I'm just curious to what the "you win!" looks like for beating all the Thargoids. I assume the CZ resets as soon as you leave and come back, regardless whether you "win" or not. Does "winning" matter more than just killing Thargoids when it comes to the incursion state?
