I have been messing around trying to get my first thargoid link, many failed attempts but after my most recent attempt, my cargo hatch broke on the srv I had to take a couple jumps to get another thargoid sensor. However I was still carrying the stolen probe when I was hyperdicted. In all of my panic I assumed I would die but my quick actions told me to dump the probe into space before I got EMP'd. This worked as far as preventing me from getting destroyed, hooray! And I thought the 3 interceptors would take my probe from me.
This did not happen. All 3 interceptors locked onto the probe and seemed to hold it from each other but they were making strange noises like I have never heard almost like they were downloading from it.
In the end, all 3 goids left the probe and jumped out.
Has anyone encountered this kind of behaviour before and is it at all relevant?
