Thargoid Data Gathering Effort: We need your help!

It's a good theory that Thargoids avoid non-scoopable stars - but now I have encoutered NHSS in Aries Dark Region YU-Y d53. This is a system with zero population, an L-Star and a T-dwarf.

I also have been interdicted by a NPC-Anaconda in this remote unpopulated system. Guess that's not totally abnorm but NPC interdictions out here are rather rare. So, theory got to adapt.

Today I had lot's of 7A logorams (3 out of 4).

That's all for the moment.

Did a couple of the Patrol systems, the EDMC Plugin works great! Plus it's nice to have something concrete to contribute, even if it's just "No Thargoids Found".

Ah fair enough, theory busted then ;)

Are we not going with the updated Thargoid v3 Lexigram?

The patrol thing is asking me to go to Col 285 Sector WT-Z c14, which is a long way out of the suspected 150 LY bubble, it's distance from Merope is 168 LYs, I think that's way too far TBH, I'll skip that ;).

Hey there,
got LCU`s awesome plugin running n doin some highwaking through the Thargoid Shell.

Are "empty" (just the usual combat aftermath, no actual Thargoid Ship or Wake) NHSS a common thing or something unusual?

I guess its allready mentioned before but it seems that the green dust, or whatever else disables our Frameshiftdrives/masslock us, affect the Interceptors as well since every wake i scanned was outside the "masslock-zone"

Thargoid bubble :).

I've come across several empty ones (out of over 100 visited), so yeah they are somewhat unusual. What I've come across twice only recently is NHSSs with passeneger/cargo vessels, whichever Thargoids are attacking us are spreading there net!

Allright, thank you for confirmation!

Hah, just happend at the NHSS i posted above, didnt know THIS is something unusual though [noob]

Forms updated. Sorry for the delay :).

I will start now updating the previous report as per the new chart.

EDIT:

Wait... Olivia Vesperd, do we need to update the previous reports, or the markins will be classified exactly the same from the 2.2 to the 3.0 version of the chart?

That's deliberate. I have uploaded all ammonia systems between Sol and the The Shell so we can patrol and determine if the thargoids are spreading

BTW If you can provide me with a spreadheet with the following columns

System: The name of teh system
Earth: Distance from sol in ly
Merope: Distance from Merope in ly
x the galactic x coordinate
y the galactic y coordinate
z the galactic x coordinate
Instructions: Some instructions for what to do when you arrive

I can add those locations to the patrol area. Your thargoid Base candidates might be good.

Following the patrol route I had an interesting encounter. I was orbiting an ammonia world (lovely place to call a night) when three authority contacts jumped on me to do "scans for illicit cargo". Funny enough I was in an unpopulated and anarchic system... Random encounter or a clue of something going on there? The system was Arietis Sector ZJ-A c18 . I have reported it to the Canonn Institute just in case.

I have fully patrolled the system Arietis Sector ZJ-A c18 but I do not appear in your Patrol Log (Responses). Is that normal?

I hope you are wrong and I don't have to go through all the over 400 entries to correct the markins TT-TT

Err, check the link I posted? :p;)

That is an odd occurrence in that ZJ-A system, I don't suppose theirs an adjacent populated system?

LCU
Well I went 1 system from that 1 (~163 LYs from Merope) & no NHSSs there, in fact I don't recall ever seeing them beyond ~145 LYs so far. I was going to check with your spread sheets, I thought your NHSS 1 showed distances from Merope, but I must've been thinking of a TS site spread sheet.

Re new spread sheet, you've lost me ;), which systems are you referring to?

Ok I've fixed it now, turns out the plugin wasn't working at all, I posted my fix on github, but all it was is that the folders were double packed, so when extracting the plugin it extracted another folder into the plugin folder & so it didn't work. So I deleted the folder it added to EDCM & went into the USS survey zip folder & extracted the files from within the 2nd folder, seems to work now :), it's showing the patrol route now, although I haven't tested it in game yet.

Weird, despite you hiding the videos now, this page still freezes up a bit after initially loading (windows warns IE isn't responding due to a long running script from Frontier).

It should log when you jump out of the system. I designed it so that it can work out how much time you have spent in system then we can weed out any in the Patrol Log that were simply passing through. Now that I think of it it would be better if the client defined a minimum amount of time before it marked it visited. It wouldn't be too hard to coordinate so that if two commanders spend 5 minutes then that counts as a 10 minute visit.

You have a list of camdidates for alien bases.

I was looking at the Merope Shell on the canonn 3d map and its not a perfect sphere there is a chunk of the sphere without any bases and it seems lined with inactive bases.

I could get EDSM to give me a list of all systems 150ly from Merope and then eliminate any systems that arent in the missing chunk. I would give a list of around a thousand systems I would guess but with the patrol system and a bunch of commanders you could work through that list.

I have already jumped out of the system. The report didn't happen for some reason :S

Merope bubble, TS sites are spread throughout the sphere (kinda ;)), it was the (then) UAs that were spread in a shell 135-150 LYs.
Anyway, yeah I noticed the gaps in the sphere, that's what made me think there must be more & hence I started my thread.
How do you get EDSM to give you a list? I couldn't see that function in it, so I used the route plotter(& database) at spansh.cu.uk which (now) lists systems with any bodies with Ammonia, even limiting to 150 LYs from Merope it still gave 1000s of system!
Anyhow, do you plan to use the list for searching for NHSSs or TSs?
Yeah I could input my list into a spread sheet but it'll take hours I think, I'll test that out at a later point.
