Thargoid Interactions

It's probably already been tried, but as I haven't 100% kept up with every Thargoid thread...

Someone has tried dropping an Ancient Relic and immediately shooting it in front of a Thargoid right?

Like in that image FD posted on their twitter account at one point?

I did that once. Thargoid didn't behave differently (scanned me, eventually turned red and attacked), though I did have more relics and a Thargoid Probe still in my hold so that would most likely have not helped my cause.

Hum, yeah.

I guess the Tharg would have done whatever it does in response to you shooting the relic as soon as you did it.

Might be worth a shot when you have nothing left in the hold too though, dunno.

Hi CMDRs

I have been doing some of professor palins missions namely thargoid resin, and for the first time I was thargodicted. Drop into normal space everything is routine I have no cargo.
Now when the power came back my engines shot up to full power straight into the thargoid.
I was powering up my FSD luckily and escaped with 26% hull and a module malfunction.
SRV bay was at 0%.
I was on my way to the thargoid scout ship when this happened.

All I could think was palin saying hostile ships may be sent against you.

"Engaging tinfoil"

Seems to me that the thargoid immediately targeted my srv module maybe.
FSD 66%
Life support 84%
Power dist 86%
Canopy 97%
Thrusters 94%.

Does this seem odd coz seems to me like they really didn't want me to collect that resin. Or go snooping around planets.

A truly organic pest eradication tool, these sterile plants can only be grown from cuttings. Their pollen is lethal to most insectoid life forms. Historically it used their body as a host to germinate. Note may cause hallucinations if workers are over-exposed.

Well, take some out to the Pleaides, drop it in front of a thargoid, & see how the goid reacts! ;)

I got pulled out of the hyperspace by 3 Thargoids. One disappeared in a wake but the other two didn't want to leave me alone. They were constantly taking distance from me, but within a range. If I came closer, they'd turn backwards and vice versa. If I boosted to run, they'd follow me.

No attacks, just staring at me from 510m range. Each on both sides of my ship. I even jettisoned meta-alloys but they didn't respond.

And it's no fun I tell you, they were staring freakishly! :D

Lol, I bet you woke up with nightmares last night ;). (btw, 'taking distance'?? you mean keeping a constant distance?).

Your ship can't boost over 460?

Either curious youngsters, or intelligent nerds wanting to communicate. Did you get screenshots of their markings? Detail is required for analysis.

In my most recent hyperdiction I tried to scan 1 after power came back, but it jumped out before I finished, tricky trying to stay less than 500m from it without ramming it! ;)

Uh oh, no. :( I just had to tell someone what happened, but was almost certain this was experienced before by you guys. Now I feel like a bloody fool for not pressing f10.

I did see them from the up close and they had compact and not that fragmented markings.

Yes, 495 that is. I pressed booster 3x in a row and they chased me in no time. They weren't fast, but very determined to get near me. One even hit me while passing by, always keeping a distance 510-513m, one in front, one behind.
Luckily no nightmares so far! :) Also I had to use 3/4 of throttle to get near them, because they compensated low speed by going backwards to keep a safe distance.

Easy done. Cant recall the number of times I've failed to take a screenshot or video of something interesting in the heat of the moment. Now I find the video of two INRA bases logs has no recorded audio & I deleted them, bah, humbug!!

That's a bug. Frontier confirmed it and said they had fixed it, evidently they didn't fix it.

Weird, I see Novo mondus said that's a bug, maybe that's why you couldn't escape? My FDL boosts to about 495-500 and I can fairly easily escape from them.

Btw, seeing as that bug is supposed to have been fixed, might be worth submitting a bug report, if there isn't one already.

okay either i am seeing things or weird things have been happening around the pleiades, i have been to a wrecked beluga yesterday and to the anomalous signal in hip 14909 1which was an attacked corvette and i noticed that the residue from the thargoids wasn't the luminous green we first started to see but a green/orange color on the beluga. and at the corvette the cloud and residue was orange color, could the some of the thargoids be infected with mycoid virus or am i just going mad chasing clues?

Would love to know if others are having this experience. I dropped into five or six NHSS yesterday and didn't notice anything, but that doesn't mean what you saw isn't happening, might not be that widespread? Did you take screenshots?

Not down to the colour of the star light?
I'm about to go NHSS hunting so I guess I'll find out soon.
