Thargoid Interactions

You can also summon a second Thargoid ship by dropping 5 Thargoid Sensors. Another guy told me that you can do the same thing with 5 Thargoid Probes. I'm guessing if you drop 5 units of any combination of TS, TP, or TL you'll get a second Thargoid.

I dropped Thargoid Resin, Technology Samples, and Biologial Matter and they are not interested in any of those. They do like slaves and imperial slaves (and I think "Master Chefs" but I haven't tested that myself).

you can do same with slaves too. i had a thargoid eating them out of the palm of my hand, and its all cool, those slaves were old stock. Just drop in groups of 5 had one doing its saxaphone routine for about 5 minutes (yes its a saxaphone noise thanks frontier for killing it for me, i actually thought you sourced the sound from a whale or something and then distorted it. But an alto sax really??)

Yeah, slaves are very useful as a diversion. If I'm after a Thargoid Probe I usually drop 10 slaves so I can have enough time go over and scoop it up for myself.

Honestly, I'm still trying to figure out if there really are two factions of Thargoids. A friend of mine got engaged for at least 30 to 45 seconds of direct fire from the Thargon fighters and suffered little hull damage. It was rather surprising. To add to it, I witnessed the Thargoid back off when my friend did. Didn't get any recording of it, but I'm seriously contemplating if perhaps there's perhaps a salvaging faction of Thargoid, and perhaps a militaristic Thargoid faction. Anyone think that be possible at all?

I got pulled back out of hyperspace again last night. This time it was one system away from Merope (probably about 17LY's). This time power went down and, when it came back on, the 'goid ship had jumped away leaving me a nice Thargoid Wake to scan.

This time it did not engage, attack or open fire on me at all; unlike my first encounter.

I couldn't get any pictures because the 'goid was on my six when power went down.

I was dropping 60 MA's because I wanted to keep the Thargoids around for a while to see what occurred when they interacted (If they would interact).
And to see if I could get more than the two Flower ships into the instance (which I haven't managed to do).

It also didn't make any difference to their "friendliness"... no green Allied icon for me!! (Maybe they are not Insectoid ? Maybe they are cats! Only friendly when fed.)

Hello all! Here you have a summary of the last observations made in the Thargoid Data Gathering Effort :)

OBSERVATIONS UPDATE:

Following the Thargoid bases, as proposed by LCU and using his EDMC addon, have already granted results. It is clear that the aliens seem to actually act in the systems where alien bases are present. The 3d Map already looks more like an sphere, which seems to confirm that their attack are spread all around the UA shell (about 150LY around Merope). There are no clear reports of alien attacks outside this shell, the reasons are unknown.

Is this data "Hyperdictions"? (As in Thargoids pulling commanders out of a Jump??).
Or, does it also include commanders dropping into the Non Human USS?

Mainly Thargoid Non Human Signals, but the few tens of hyperdictions reports seem to fall in this trend with a few exceptions. Hyperdictions are slightly more complex, as some of them start or end inside the UA shell, but the other end (origin or destination) doesn't.

I drove / jumped / wiggled my SRV into the central "chimney" of the HIP 14909 site and left them a guardian relic :)

There were no fireworks :(

I don't knew what they are 

Rare commodity:

"Master Chefs are selected based on genetic markers that tend to favour an aptitude for the gourmet. Little is known about them except that they are kidnapped as children and then trained under mysterious conditions to bring out their genetic cooking potential. The use of Master Chefs is illegal in most Federal and Alliance systems, but is regarded as a sign of high status in many Imperial systems. Many anti-slavery protest groups have tried to free Master Chefs from their life of culinary bondage, yet due to their training, most return of their own free will to serve. Theirs is a life of servitude - they know nothing but to cook."

Ah, thank you :)

An small observation I made some days ago.

We do know that the Thargoids get angry if you "steal" something they are about to scoop (ie, using a collector limpet to snatch out an escape pod from their tractor beam). However the other day something different happened to me.

The Thargoid started scooping an escape pod, but I had no collectors, so I tried to catch the pod as it was moving towards the Goid. I failed and destroyed the pod (may its occupant rest in piece). However, the Thargoid became immediatly hostile, exactly the same as if I had stolen the pod.

This changes my perception of their reaction. I used to think that they were yelling "HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY THAT'S MINE!" when they attacked. However, after destroying accidentally the pod, I feel like it yelled "HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY YOU [insert insult here]".

My gut feeling is that the Thargoids do not recognize the human beings inside the Escape Pods as a being itself, but as an integral part of the human machinery. If you think about it, we could describe their ships as "machines made of biological matter", so maybe they are observing our ships as "living beings that include non-biological matter on their bodies".

After visiting the destroyed megaships, Majestic-Class interdictors and the Farragut cruiser.... I don't think I am the only one who thinks that the Thargoid Interceptors we are finding now are NOT the ones that destroyed those ships. Am I?

No. I have been questioning this for awhile. With all the attacks people have been getting from Thargoids/Flower Ships, how come none of them have been attacked with this corrosive goo? My guess is that the destroyed ships were attacking the Thargoid and when it burst in its death throes, it dissolved into the familiar caustic cloud and that is what we see on the destroyed ships.

Yes, you are not alone.

I personally even doubt Thargoid involvement in those early ones.

So, i've done some extensive testing with an extra thargoid ariving at nhss. After giving them 6 meta alloys the second one jumped in, fortunatly the first one had actually taken all the meta alloys and was already in the process of leaving when the second one actually arived. The second one somehow got stuck in some sort of animation glitch and wasnt moving or reacting to proximity. I took the time to scan the second one (having already scanned the first one) and discovered that they both had different symbols. This could be an indication that they could be, Hive locations or A way they tell age. I Havn't seen anybody talking about this on the forums yet so i thought i might as well post something about it (The fact that the second thargoid had a different symbol)

I've accidently destroyed some escape pods too (RIP):(, personally I think they only turn hostile to you if you destroy them & your within 500m of them, when they've been destroyed or rescued beyond that range I don't recall them going hostile then.

From my point of view, the sounds the Thargoids make definatly sound like a language of some sort, if you listen to the noise they make when you're within 500m and anger it, it sounds like its saying "GOOOO AWAY!". Just my opinion though, same thing goes for the gardian recap video, when the thargoid recognises the relic it sounds like its saying "Oh no" with something else afterwards. Not to sure if anyone else has noticed this, but i've been monitoring the noises (Klaxian and Oresian hostile noises are completely different too) because i feel as if the thargoids are trying to communicate with us the best way possible currently, noises.

They only appear friendly on the contacts panel, i was wondering why they werent appearing allied for me, but they do in the contacts tab (They will obviously still attack you if you stay in their personal space for too long even when you're allied with them). They definatly act differently when you become allied with them though (when i drop into a nhss now they're allied in the contacts panel), they scan me and make a more happy sound.
