Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

A lot of the Indra activity I think is coming from people attacking the spires there (quite substantially, too) so it pushes them up, sometimes even to 85%, but there's no-one working the systems locally to finish them off once weakened.
Ah yes, makes sense - too many rules for my head :) Could that explain Arietis Sector BQ-P b5-0 in leigong as well?

No, it can't - there's no working spires at Leigong. It's probably focused effort by someone who heard Frontier talk about targeting the systems around Leigong.
Makes sense! That's a shame - must be around 9k of effort if they make it, could have given us 4 controls in Oya 🤷‍♀️

Ok so I’m reading all your chats and I haven’t got a scooby doo on what’s going on. Is there a thread I can read up on about exactly what’s needed to do in the war?
I’ve enjoyed doing some bug squashing but it’s been mainly scouts and as I’m a trucker by heart I’m thinking my skills could be put to use elsewhere, as they say “an Army marches on its stomach” so is it just killing stuff or are there other things to do?

The most self-service way is to look at https://dcoh.watch/ - click on Systems (top left) then Oya (or whatever is the current Titan this week) to the Right. Next check 'Hide Completed Systems' (and probably 'Hide Unpopulated Systems'). Then you should see a list of systems ordered by completion - pick one near the top!

(I think you've been doing invasions, so you could pick another of them. The First Post has a list of what you can do in each type of system, and a list of where to go. I'd not use the list of systems in the first post as it is not dynamic - that website will be more up to date.)

Despite being in need of a Titan-related update, I have placed an actions overview at the top of this thread. Read down just below the weekly system progress, and you should see various things you can do in Alert and Invasion systems. In your case, passengers from any port and wounded pods from attacked and damaged ports ought to be for you, Scythes permitting!

If so, you can then look back up around the top of the progress list; you are seeking systems:
  • Close enough to you, where you can see each Maelstrom to which they belong.
  • Feasibly defensible given the remaining time before Thursday.
  • With a decent port you can use, where the relevant ports are listed with types and distances.
For the squadrons most related to shipment, seek Operation Ida and Post-Disaster Evacuation Service (PDES).

Target: Cephei Sector DQ-Y b2 (1,755 strength)
Carrier Location: Cephei Sector BA-A d126
Carrier Name: [TRGE] TCG BAFRA
Demand: 1,750
Price: 200k

Note: Squadron and Friends Only carrier. Pls add me in game.

There's Evacs being organised by Op Ida and PDES.
If you can get to the surface of a planet in a control system there's Hostile Reboots and Spires.
There's also Hauling in supplies to systems being invaded or alerted.
Beyond that is the general combat and sampling alluded to earlier.

There's the options mentioned above, but another option is sampling in Control or Alert systems. I've made a guide to it here; the basic idea is getting a single Scout alone in the target system and bulk-harvesting Thargoid Tissue Samples from it to sell to a Rescue Megaship. Oddly enough, it's an amazingly effective method - it's quite possible for a single commander doing this to clear a weaker system outright.

Well done! That leaves M. Oya with only a couple of relatively weak attacks, such that its Invasion and Alert systems will be much better to complete until Thursday. Quite soon after T. Leigong, it will be good to see a gradual shift over to Spire sieges at Lyncis Sector WU-P b5-0 as the more difficult Control systems are reached!

Having been reminded to do so, the front page information is updated, mostly with a Titan section and some overdue notes about newer Spire site knowledge. It is quite concise, as is its goal; I cut several lines of true but ultimately secondary information to keep it down to the very basics. Loosely, the differences are:
  • Titan system overview, including access, rescues and core damage.
  • Titan system list.
  • Peripheries include Invasion systems.
  • Rescues no longer affect peripheries.
  • Sabotage missions added to Matrix systems.
  • Outdated Spire site numbers removed.
  • Spire sites known not to reoccupy if Thargoids capture the system again.
  • Settlement reactivation added to Recovery systems.
  • Repeat invasion clarification for Recovery systems.
  • Everything which requires Odyssey now mentions that!

Far as Lyncis WU-P b5-0, it had been AXI standing spire target since the 3rd, as the Leigong spires were out of commission - Given 8/10 systems the spires can help until thursday are cleared, offering **My side the option of moving to a lower-G spire for some R&R - the jump from a 0.05G spire to 0.41 has been taxing for a few, want to make sure folk are still willing to push there when we get to the sub-20Ly... and especially the sub-10 range.

Looks like the last Alert has fallen (good, the supercruise to the signals was a killer :) ). One Control with any amout of work, but someone had 'claimed' that so I'll leave the glory of completion to them.

I plan on caching some samples for next week - any preferences on systems to hit / not hit? (avoid outer ones so Spires can play a part?)

Targets for next week will need some thinking about.
Oya-edges.png

Assuming the attack on AV-Y b6 is also completed there should only be two Alerts next week: Daruwach attacks Aowicha, and HIP 7338 attacks Gliese 3050

In terms of spire assistance, that would place 6 Alert/Invasion systems in the outer 10, leaving four spire-assistable Controls:
- FB-X b1-1
- the newly captured BD+77 84
- ZE-A c8
- HIP 3006
Cutting down its Alert/Invasion options will make spire attacks much more valuable in following weeks, but those four will still be the easiest targets next week, and spire attacks will also reduce the work needed to win the outstanding Invasions. With BD+77 84 likely to be the toughest of next week's targets it might be worth starting to collect samples for it now?

As you can see from the map, Oya has a dense inner core (bottom half) and a looser outer region, which the recapture of FB-X b1-1 would break into two parts:
- the part anchored to the inner core by HIP 10778 and Ardhri, with some moderately easy systems and then the tougher Sambaho and Daruwach as well. Retaking HIP 10778 and Ardhri will be difficult; depending on how well the attack on the core goes, it may also be necessary to hold these systems against a counter-attack.
- the loose line of systems connecting HIP 13179 to Kanus, with HIP 7338 representing the toughest previous recapture. Kanus is relatively easy to isolate but much tougher to recapture and may well place some annoying Alerts before the Spire periphery line gets down to it.
Once those two outer groups are gone, Oya's inner core will have very limited opportunities to place Alerts outside of itself ... but it will be constantly self-reinforcing if it takes more than four weeks for the final attack.

Well Cephei Sector AV-Y b6 has been retaken by now. It has been a really successful cycle so far.
My question is if we have some data how much the different actions make progress wise? I´ve got the feeling Fdev change the numbers in favour of combat and rescues.
In terms of sampling I don´t know if it has been mentioned before but in control systems there is the possibility of scythe sampling in NHSS 4. I had a solo run with an outcome of 173 / 176 (30 FPS) scythe sampels after around 40 min with no damage taken at all and only 4 scouts to destroy at the beginning of the instance. Instead of the 150 I would get by sampling scouts while shooting down any incoming scouts.
