Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

While ultimately one can but try, I can offer at least a video of it with the first Titan attack at ~20 seconds! The Python 2 works incredibly well, or a Krait 2 should be quite fine; my loadout is this ¹. Freezing the vents also implies being agile enough that patrols are barely able to follow, attacking the core involves some risk due to stopping, but one can then back away into the asteroids and lose unwanted attention while flying around for the next attack.

1. I am still experimenting with Low Emissions grades 4 and 5 versus the Thermal Vent beam class 2 or 1. Low Emissions 5 is nice, but class 1 Thermal Vent can not quite maintain temperature while boosting and the shield is recharging.
I use a Krait mk iii, no issues in Solo.

Well, if this is the Thargoids now for however long it is until they realize this is not a very strategically sensible move (aka Frontier changes stuff again), I'm not sure if this is more or less exciting...

... not that I can complain about the Counterstrike port additions, if they do decide to work.

Though I am also contemplating the possibility they're just playing into the "Humans haven't the slightest clue how Thargoid brains work"... still not convinced about this move unless it also makes them attack further than 10ly at a time. Because if they want more captives for whatever reason(the primary factor I'd see of why they are targeting only populated space now), getting cut off from their attack routes isn't exactly going to achieve that. Although I guess it's mostly a risk for the actively targeted Titan, shouldn't take Thor to fall for them to realize this...

But the player part of me thinks it's just "Give players back their invasion content while the war is on its way out and it's liable to become more sparsely available thereafter".

I haven't. (I have no confidence in my ability to do the vents and survive in solo.)
I always do it solo on FDL, you don't need a cold ship there, the main thing is speed as usual.
You sit behind the asteroid, and on time fly to Titan, just open hatches, plug them, then bomb the core and again for the asteroid. And so on until you get bored ...

Experiencing problems at Indra - the thermal core comes up but some people are just not being awarded any bonds (although other commanders in the instance are making millions).

Not even getting the thousand credits or so you used to get just for being in the instance with the previous Titans.
No problem for me. 5 runs > 7.8 Million CB

Running a Python 2 with Low Emissions grade 5. I'm not bothering with a beam laser at all, just popping heatsinks and synthing refills. Trading for mats for heatsink refills is no problem with the stockpile of mats from rescues, but it's also one of the cheaper trades so anyone with a half decent stock of manufactured mats can do the same. Much less hassle than using a beam and no chance of causing aggro to the Titan before you do a run.
I use both. HS on approach. LR TV Beam while shooting the vents and core. HS on escape. 5 runs. 4 without ship damage.

I run an OG Python with TV beam, get 5-6 vents per run solo. There is a "cave"/underhang area near the vents you can fly to for safety; I start there, listen for the gurgling noise and then pop out to line up for a run. Fly sideways with the ship rear to the Titan maw, it reduces the circling area but don't stray too close to the maw or you'll be too far away from the vents to lock on. Hit the vents with boost in between each, then boost under to the core. Unload the missiles and if any left once the core begins to retract, I unload what ever is left so I have a full rack the next time around. Then for the Taurus (sp?) there is a "deadzone" right above the core; if you hang above it nose down you won't get hit at all, but scouts do tend to spawn there so can be an issue though I find it less so than the Taurus. Once the Titan has finished it's tantrum, I fly back to the cave area, repair if needed, wash rinse repeat.

Quick follow-up for @Doctor Dread; apparently this is indeed the case:

One possibility could be that it happens only for the Titan with fewest Control systems, like with the new empty and Spire Counterstrikes from update 18.06, such that we will discover only after T. Indra explodes.

Confirmation from Titan Indra Vulnerable & Thargoid War Changes:

Hi folks, a quick clarification from our dev team:

As with the previous improvements to counterstrike systems, counterstrike port AXCZs will only occur around the Titan with the fewest controlled systems - which is Indra, for now. You can expect to see these in force from next week on Thor.

Why is there a cold ship out there? You have to fly off after the cycle for the asterlid anyway.
Sure, but it's still easier to avoid incoming fire if you're below 20% heat, and a lot of the time not get seen at all. Less hits taken is less chance for your shield to drop (if you have one), and less hull/module points to either repair on-site, or force a retreat back to a station before running your ammunition dry. It's not 100% needed to run cold, but it does make life easier if you're less experienced.

When you're near titanium in a ventilation shoot, do a boost, shoot at the core there it's hard to keep a low temp. Otherwise, behind the asteroid.

While it lets them place a few invasions right now, it also allows all three (Raijin with more difficulty) to be essentially completely stopped in their tracks - at least until they realise they've made a silly mistake - because if they're relying on an uninhabited control to launch an attack on an inhabited system, the attack can be prevented permanently ... and there are far too few inhabited controls to launch a full set of attacks from.
Given that all 3 already were being stopped through Alert clearance, I'm guessing that Frontier has just decided to shift to wind-down mode for the war, instead of trying to present a hypothetical threat of the Thargoids making progress again.

But the propaganda inbox messages we get are still raving on about how we're "saving humanity" from a threat that never really went past threatening relatively unimportant border systems (unimportant to most except the locals, that is).

My ship is built to do all that, and keep the temps as low as possible. Even when attacking the core with all guns blazing I sit below 20% which makes the extraction back to the asteroids much easier.

Ahead of the update 18.07 which will restore the lost 20% damage for Guardian weapons with the anti-Guardian zone resistance modification, here is a Shards video example at the Titan! The core attacks are at 1:20 and 5:50.

Interestingly I find that Sirius missiles and Shard cannons expose a discrepancy between core percentage damage and Combat bond credits, where the damage is approximately equal but the Shards effect 25–30% higher payout. The removal tomorrow of the 20% reduction equates to a 25% increase beyond that!
