Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

So, the Sol system is about to get "Concha Renibus".
Good luck!
I guess FTL in any direction you like and when you get there, FTL again...

hmm ok so does this mean AX-newbs like me ( who have only destroyed 2 Titans ) can't go farm Thargoid mats & loot anymore from space 'graveyards' nor from ground inactive spire sites ? At least, not until whatever this new surprise attack-on-Sol situation is resumed/resolved?
I haven't checked today, but presumably the graveyard sites are still there. It was mentioned just in the stream yesterday that they were a 'permanent scar' on the Galaxy.
I am curious whether there's any live Thargoid activity at them now, though, so when I log-on I might go for a quick check before the real fun begins.

Cojico is detectable with a scanner but obviously doesn't tell you how far away.
It does if you are close enough. When I was in the system which it initially chose as its destination, earlier today (about 7 hours ago) it was showing a distance of about 210 million light seconds away as it was moving toward Qinganu.

And there will not be any dedicated AX CZs present in the alert state Sol is currently under. The state doesn ot spawn any of those, only if/when it goes under invasion... I suspect it has been placed there to allow for the whole "evacuating civilians before the Titan arrives" to not just be a story mention in GalNet. And because even if it is cleared up, there will probably be an invasion or takeover anyhow when the Titan itself reaches its destination.

Graveyards were still there last night. I literally mined cojico for parts before going to bed and then this. I suspect you'll get a chance at a live titan.

I agree, just giving a field observation report.
We did want something new to happen after all.

How do I join up to fight the Xenos at sol? I want to help monke them back to whatever space-hole they crawled out of
Right now, there only a few scouts in far off places. Mostly you can rescue people who want out. Plenty of stations to pick from. Just bring some passenger cabins.

Right I mean I want to know how to prepare and to know how to be there for sure when it goes down.
I'm technically a new player, have owned the game since it came out but kind of didnt play it til recently lol. still learning stuff like how to shoot thargoids

Ah, in that case here is a quick overview.
If you are wishing to fight, you'll need anti thargoid weapons (AX human ones like missiles or auto cannons) or guardian weapons (a bit harder to obtain).
Thargoid scouts can be harmed by any weapon, but interceptors will only be hurt by the special weapons I just mentioned.
The difficulty of these, shall we call them, boss type interceptors is cyclops, basilisk, medusa, hydra.

The general pattern is that you have to harm them until a heart (flower pedal) is exposed and then hit that until it breaks off. Then they'll pop a shield for a while and you rinse and repeat until the thing is dead. Higher class of interceptors have more hearts and faster regeneration.

You will also want an xeno scanner (advanced so you can scan from further away than 500m) to easily tell which heart is exposed otherwise you have to guess from the glow.

Interceptors are also carriers, they come with ever increasing swarms of thargons which will shoot you and act as missiles.
Near the ground these aren't a thing, in space they are. If you don't want to just tank them, you'll need a flak gun to take care of them and they are very dodgy.

Some people swear to never bring shields. I bring shields anyway. Hull points is where its at, though as damage will go through shields anyway (not all at once). So it is also good to have hull reinforcements.

Specialized combat also involves using a long range beam weapon with heat venting to keep you cold. Thargoids apparently see in the infrared so when you are cold, they are mostly blind. You don't have to do that, though. I use a cutter and just tank the damage.

Titan combat is different but not something that is likely to be a thing right away. For that I use a python 2 with the nano torpedoes (needed to bomb the heat vents) and now anti guardian field protected guardian shard cannons.

Once a titan has no control systems, it is vulnerable to attack and you bomb the heat vents when they open up, soon the corn cob on the other side pops out to emergency cool and you run down there to shoot it for all you can until the emergency venting occurs (obvious when it happens). Get to a safe place outside the venting and then repeat the process.

Almost forgot, you need a shutdown field inhibitor for thargoid interceptor combat because they'll emp burst you and shut you down.

For the titans, you want the one to get through the push back field in the maelstrom. The name of which I forget at the moment.

Week 105, 28th November 3310

Maelstrom Cocijo
Titan: Inaccessible while moving closer into Human space.
The destination is unknown, but is likely either Sol itself or an Ammonia planet nearby such as Kruger 60 A 1.

The anti xeno initiative website is a good place to start. And cmdr mechan has loads of YouTube tutorials.

A bit early as we are still in December - but ...

The Twelve Days of Thargoids

On the first day of Thargoids, my sensors did reveal,

A lone Interceptor on my shield!

On the second day of Thargoids, my ship began to shake,

Two Cyclops drones, and a lone Interceptor on my shield!

On the third day of Thargoids, my hull began to crack,

Three caustic clouds, two Cyclops drones, and a lone Interceptor on my shield!

On the fourth day of Thargoids, my AX rounds did soar,

Four Scouts swarming, three caustic clouds, two Cyclops drones, and a lone Interceptor on my shield!

On the fifth day of Thargoids, the Thargoid roared at me,

Fiiive heartsss exposed!

Four Scouts swarming, three caustic clouds, two Cyclops drones, and a lone Interceptor on my shield!

On the sixth day of Thargoids, my wingmate saved the day,

Six plasma bursts, fiiive heartsss exposed!

Four Scouts swarming, three caustic clouds, two Cyclops drones, and a lone Interceptor on my shield!

On the seventh day of Thargoids, the Witchspace lit the sky,

Seven wakes detected, six plasma bursts, fiiive heartsss exposed!

On the eighth day of Thargoids, my hull repair was late,

Eight drones attacking, seven wakes detected, six plasma bursts, fiiive heartsss exposed!

Four Scouts swarming, three caustic clouds, two Cyclops drones, and a lone Interceptor on my shield!

On the ninth day of Thargoids, my limpet had a glitch,

Nine frameshift failures, eight drones attacking, seven wakes detected, six plasma bursts, fiiive heartsss exposed!

Four Scouts swarming, three caustic clouds, two Cyclops drones, and a lone Interceptor on my shield!

On the tenth day of Thargoids, my Guardian tech held fast,

Ten interceptors charging, nine frameshift failures, eight drones attacking, seven wakes detected, six plasma bursts, fiiive heartsss exposed!

Four Scouts swarming, three caustic clouds, two Cyclops drones, and a lone Interceptor on my shield!

On the eleventh day of Thargoids, I heard a human cheer,

Eleven AX ships firing, ten interceptors charging, nine frameshift failures, eight drones attacking, seven wakes detected, six plasma bursts, fiiive heartsss exposed!

Four Scouts swarming, three caustic clouds, two Cyclops drones, and a lone Interceptor on my shield!

On the twelfth day of Thargoids, the battle reached its end,

Ok I can do most of that, but won't be able to have guardian weapons anytime soon, and FA-Off is a liability not a benefit. At least if you think you can leave it off always. Dogfighting while having to manually adjust every thrust to not spin out of control is not a choice any sane person would make.

FA-Off can be amazing when you learn how to use it properly, by disengaging and re engaging it you can do manuvers you really can't with it on OR always off.

I don't do FA Off and do quite well.

Just for the record, the other graveyards still there (which I wasn't worried about, but it was asked.)

What I was interested in though, is that there is still active Thargoid activity there.
At least Interceptors, I didn't bother to hang around to see if there were Hunters too, but it appears this move from Cocijo hasn't changed anything about the forces there.
I'm curious whether that will always be the case, or if at some stage the graveyards will have zero Thargoid Interceptors/Hunters and only leave the NPC pirates as a threat.
