Hey there...just rolled a really good idea...well, I think it could be anyways.
When the thargoids attack, there could be a great opportunity for a story beat that would include their attack on a starport/station or even a planetside base.
An area would become invaded by thargoid ships, and players would be needed en masse to flock to this point.
The station will need to be evacuated by one group yet they will be under fire from the alien threat, the other group, tries to fend them off whilst providing cover for those willing to fly in, land and try to save as many people as possible.
I reckon this might get randoms as well as long time friends to wing up, be a team and earn money together....maybe.
I won't go into the details of the rest of the mission, you've all got brains and can imagine the scenario for yourself. But it's something I'd like to have a bash at, might be abit more fun that....oh look, another ship....pew pew.
At least this one might require abit more coordination and communication. A wing of four, 2 defenders and 2 transporters. The CG would pay out and be set in a similar way (i.e. Combat and trade %'s and payouts)
and after a while you can swap over with ya buddies and see things from the other side of the mission.
Transporters can assign a button for "select highest threat" when they get attacked, defenders would bind a button for "select wingmans target" and boosh, chocs away jimmy!
