That was amazing! Teng-hui Hub

I was about to logout my play session, when I thought to check the availability of tritium post patch. Well look at that! Teng-hui Hub had something like 450,000 units at 4K. Still hadn’t tanked up my spanking new fleet carrier yet, and Parutis is only 48 ly from where I’m parked. Good time to pop over an stock up on some fuel. Quicker to just jump over in my trade Anaconda than fuss with a carrier jump, so off I went around 5:20 local time. Arrived and filled up with 404 units, then back home. There were about 12 carriers in the system at that time. Rinse and repeat, but by the fourth trip only an hour later the tritium supply was down to 8 units! Checked the system map and now there were over 120 fleet carriers in Parutis!

I hope this isn’t the new norm, desperate FC owners scouring the bubble for cheap fuel and descending on any station offering bargain prices like a swarm of locusts.

Or could it have been a clever Frontier post patch server stress test? That last trip in the network was operating smooth as silk even with the 120 or so carriers clogging the system.

that's a ridiculous nonsequitur argument and you know it.
Firstly, thanks, learned a new term today 'non sequitur' :)
2ndly, The 'killing off the gold rush patch' also messed up the tritium pricing , so my logic might be a bit stretched, but not irrelevant.

This is the "New Normal" . Plenty of Tritium supply in the bubble 39k-44k ton, whenever you want it. Cheap will run dry in hours of braodcast now. My advice, you find it and want it, dont tell anyone about it, ever.

I had hoped supply would be limited from the onset, creating more interdependability between players. Lowering the mining yields at the same time was not such a good move though as the combination only creates frustration.

Which kinda proves the point that 450000 ton supply might work for a single player game or up to a 16-32 player game.
But not for a game with 200000+ players and 15000 carriers.

Markets are really fked up badly.

As a side-line, our 7 billion people planet was producing in 2019 an average 12 millions tons of Oil every single day.
12 millions a day!

I support a little player-on-player tritium capitalism.
For 2 days after carrier introduction we had trit for 4k and stations willing to buy for 80k.

Set up buy order in one sys, jump to selling station, set sell order.

Price competition was amazing - we were negotiating with haulers & lowering prices to offer better deals for truckers. We got some nice money ehile truckers got 25mln for travelling few Mm.

Chat was alive and stuff..Aaand then they lowered prices to point it was no longer good offer for haulers. Well still, there were some ppl and it was fun, but now i dont think any carrier owner will wait for fc to be filled

That's unfortunate. With tritium being harder to get now, I'd figure that kind of trading/mining bargaining would pick back up.

The other refinery station in the same system had fuel for another hour and a tad after this one went dry. But yeah at current supply rates cheap it will be a race like the game has never seen. If FCs had broadside cannons we would all be involved in huge space battles over Tritium. :D

Nope, it wont
Tritium supply are being replenished at a puny rate - so a market with 450000 tons supply can fill 20-25 carriers and that's all, see the OP.
Pre Patch 3, a system with 4k price will be stuffed with carriers (100+ carriers at any moment, no free slots) and the nearby systems would be pretty much the same.

As i said in my previous post - current supply replenish rates are making sense in a 30 players game, not in a game where thousands of players were trading tritium splitting profits between carrier owners and pure haulers.

Tritium mining was killed too - not like it had any noticeable impact on trading, tho

As I said in my other thread, I suspect that FC owners will hoard their Tritium now instead of trading as it is so rare for fuel.
