The 15 second logout timer in action

I understand that your example is exaggerted, however it is still exploitable. Doing so would cause a whole new chain of 'griefing' threads. Just have a wing of pvp ships and one unarmed uparmored ship to fly in front of your wing mates so that when they get shot your enemy explodes and pays a billion to rebuy his vette.

For the logging example, they rarely shoot at all. Too busy either menu logging or task killing.

With the creation of a system, you create the framework for that system to be exploited.

Oh I agree. And that's why my original reply cautioned against wishing for "things".

Just remember, if Frontier are about to start establishing rules in an environment where there are none... it sets precedence.

Be careful what you wish for, you might get it- and others may get what they wish for, too.

Because as we've already discussed, it works both ways. That's what some just don't seem to "get" here.

It does work both ways. Player gets a bounty for killing the ship. If it happens enough and all the guy does is kill weaker ships. Those weaker ships already have their rebuy reduced drastically. It was a change they made close ot the engineers rework.

Some gankers have had close to 1 billion in rebuys now when they die.

im gonna make this clear so you understand it.

GET OFF THE FORUMS AND GO PLAY THE GAME AND MAYBE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND THE GAME WE ARE PLAYING INSTEAD OF WHINING LIKE A CRYBABY ABOUT THE SAME ENGINEERING AND WEAPONS EVERYONE ELSE HAS IN THE GAME TOO.

Settle pettle, Sylveria - or anyone - has the same right to voice their opinions on these forums as you. Just because you don't agree with her opinion matter very little.

that's one reason why games are hard, and multiplayer games even more so. and that falls squarely on the developer, who not always get it right, and sometimes get it totally wrong. because we aren't blaming the players again, are we?

Sure opinions are fine.

Truth is something different. A set of rules and understanding that Frontier has given us recently this year. Is an understanding.

There is plenty of give and take here. While they say there is none.

I've shown and explained where the give and take is that they added to the game.

It would help if they knew about the game before voicing their opinion about it. This is not a new person this is someone thats been around for a while.

Quite frankly, they should better.

Thats why I have no problem showing why their "opinion" is wrong. Because they dont understand the game for form a proper one around this subject. And I have been begging them for months now to go learn the game first. Then people will see why the logout timer is too short, FSD timer is too short, Why adversarial parts of the game failed. All sorts of things.

So please. Im asking everyone. Learn the game its there and its hard to understand it. But you have to go do it and not take every way out thats NOT gameplay when there is an engagement with another player.

I'm perfectly willing to blame the players. Not for all of it, but they have some responsibility here. Why put so much value in a minuscule part of the game? Being over precious about popping a bunch of pixels, is no different than being too precious to loose those pixels.

Please tell me how this post is anything BUT toxic.

I've been relatively calm and logical in addressing and replying to your posts- but this isn't at all calm nor logical.

Because you've been here for months on end. Refusing to learn the game in front of you. While suggesting rules that make no sense because you dont have an understanding on whats happening within the game. You are taking things on an extreme case by case basis.

There has been COUNTLESS people that have explained this to you over the course of the past few months.

And I felt maybe if I used RED BLUNT LETTERS. It might sink in. Maybe you'll even dream about learning the game. Instead of posting here and listening to every other post from some new player that got "griefed" while they were pledged with powerplay tags. Because just like you, they didnt understand the game either.

btw, there are rules: combat log via cable is inmoral; combat log via dialog is sanctified. it's just they make no sense whatsoever and (probably for that reason) frontier doesn't even bother to enforce them.

I've shown and explained where the give and take is that they added to the game.

No, what you did was spew meaningless banter without a single example to dispute the argument. Then you followed up with a completely toxic reply.

Yes, I have been around a long time. Longer than you. And I do know about the game- which is why I'm able to not only provide clear examples of how you're just plain wrong in certain cases, and you tend to generalize quite a bit. You make wild assertions that any vessel that's flying unshielded, unarmed in "your" territory must somehow be manipulating the BGS or circumventing PP, even though you don't have a CLUE what they're doing there- and it somehow give you a "right" to destroy them in "defense" of your system.

You failed, miserably, to demonstrate any of that in your post. Choosing, instead, to spew a tirade, rather than making a point.

because that minuscule part of the game for some is a core aspect for others. we humans are just so annoyingly diverse. developer offers us a toy, it's his responsability that the expectations are met and that they can coexist.

humans are humans. lots of room for improvement for sure! but if you craft tools for humans, you have to take humanity into account.

Thats okay, Keep your head in the sand.

But dont be upset when the timers get changed. And you have to learn the game and engineer to survive.

If you have been around longer than I. Then its a shame you havnt progressed past the carebear stage of this game. You're not a new player anymore.

There is no excuse for the things you are saying at this point. If you truly understand the game that is.

I'm not even sure they could.

Imagine for a second that I decide to dump 3Tb of steam games to NAS and forgot to set proper metric.

Oops.

I will address your last line first - learn WHOSE game, your game, my game, Sylveria's game - everyone who plays ED plays the game differently. The problem arises when people (like you are here) expect everyone else to adopt your specific and very narrow gameplay to the exclusion of their own. And the only reason you are saying that 'their opinion is wrong' is that you are refusing to even acknowledge that someone might have a different opinion than yourself.

No there 1 game. Its elite dangerous. Learn to play it.

You can't make a hammer that can drive a nail, but be unable to rap your thumb. We as players can accept the ramifications of the rules and mechanics the game has, and set about enjoying the parts we like. Being over concerned with how others approach the game is the true problem here. Precious is as Precious does.
