The 15 second logout timer in action

I don't want you to leave the game, nor forums. I would like you to accept that there are s multitude of ways to play this game, and just get on with pursuing yours.

My sentiments, exactly. I have YET to block a single CMDR in game or the forums just because they may have a difference of opinion.

I do not, however- assert that mine is the ONLY opinion that is "right", just that it's my opinion.

You stated that if FD don't make the changes you want in the Beyond season, you would leave the game, for good. As it turns out that was just another example of your predictions being wrong.

There are. And I am asking for those things to be balanced. Combat logging is one of them. Taking objectives from others without the ability of being stopped is one of them.

Yeah, im going to fight my hardest to take that away from the people abusing it.

You dont like it? Too bad.

What happens if you're wrong, instead? Would you feel pretty dumb?

This is where the unilateral views come into play.

I guess we will find out. But I have a pretty good feeling I am right :)

If they want their game to work properly. They have no choice to fix whats wrong.

So in turn, I will be right. Its a win win. Or they can keep it like it is now. And welp, thats not going to good.

My sentiments too, I will gladly have a deep discussion with someone here, even a mild argument but I will never block them. I have even been known to modify my opinion when someone can point out a different point of view, normally in a coherent and calm manner (that tends to work far better than telling everyone who disagrees with you to stop playing the game or some out childish retort). And likewise, I have, at times, managed to change someone's paradigm of the game. It is all about how one expresses themselves here after all.

Probably because most of the PVPers in this game understand the game. Some of them dont. They just play to fight. Some of them dont understand the framework of the BGS or Powerplay. We grind to fight each other instead of using the framework because its unbalanced. So thats where everyone is.

I want to be able to use those things as they intended for them to work against each other. Again, I am not the only one.

Another thing, PVPers understand every aspect of this game and see the problems in balancing long before anyone else. We are the ones showing heat is an issue, we are the ones showing that there is an imbalance with shield boosters.

We understand the game because we take part of have tried to take part in every aspect of it. We have the proof and the knowledge to talk to the people in charge to fix those problems.

No different than the top tier raiders in World Of warcraft, the the Diamond ranked and Above in League of Legends.

Do you really think the balancing teams are going to listen to a level 20 warcraft player about a raid?

Or a Bronze league player about balancing skills and abilities?

I played in a PvP oriented PG for about a year. Taking up system patrols, and practicing with our competition players. Does my time away from them now disqualify me from what I learned. I was involved in the testing and reporting on the Heat issue. Am I now less than educated because I moved on?

You really and truly don't have a clue who you may be brushing with your ridiculously broad paint brush. Lets try and find a moment where you were actually right in one of your predictions.

It's OK to have "good feelings" and opinions... what's not OK is to assert that only you are right and everyone else is wrong because they disagree with yours (or vice versa). Seriously. I have no "personal beef" with you or any of that nonsense.

So please, retract the claws.

When you get to chose who comes into your PG or not?

Are you special? Of course you're disqualified? Are you kidding me right now? Jesus christ.

Lol, All im asking you to do. Is to go learn the game so you understand it. I understand that your pride may get in the way when someone tells you to go learn something.

But guess what. I was told the same thing. I was in YOUR spot once.

I understand where you are coming from. I had to learn the game to understand that I was wrong. I am asking you to do the same thing.

The aspect to all of this that I still can't understand is this: Of all the niche groups in the game, the long range explorers, the bubble explorers, the mission runners, the traders, the miners etc, the only group that traditionally insist that everyone plays the game their way and submit to their rules is the PvP group. Do they really think they are that special? I never read that CMDR Blogs who really enjoys 5,000ly exploration missions jumping on here telling all and sundry that they have to play like him and anyone else who doesn't has to stop playing because they don't understand the game.

Yep, it is all very confusing at times ….

You misunderstand once again. I was part of someone's PG, and then left them for another style of play. They continue on. As far as I know.

So, you suppose I can't remember and apply what I learned while part of that group, once I have left it's membership? That is a pretty ridiculous, self serving thing to assert.

I think you're trying to take one experience and justify it for the rest of the game. An experience that happened in a PG.

It doesnt work that way.

but please continue my great and powerful forum genius. You know everything. I obviously do not.

Blocking someone in a discussion has no productive result whatsoever. In fact, all it does is create an echochamber. It leaves both parties with the impression that the other is "wrong", without resolving the dispute(s).

I see the proverbial "string" of discord with PvP as thus- PvP in game involves physical confrontation. The forum does NOT. What you can "enforce" in game by physical means, you cannot on the forums... which is where some tend to forget the forums is not the game. (meta game, whatever) Some have problems communicating outside of physical confrontation- which is where they resort to violence in order to resolve disputes. "If I cannot get you to submit to my opinion, I'll just beat you into submission."

PvP oriented pg OMG.

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. There are actually people who wish to engage others without the offchance of playing with those who don't abide by agreements or rules. See conventions of war (Geneva Convention is a good example), or treaties among disputing parties.

Not everyone wishes to have a FFA dystopian environment.

Don't like the idea of a PvP PG, I would have thought that would be every PvP'ers dream come true, systems full of those who are always willing to battle, everyone in PvP ready and capable ships, a true test of skill.

"CQC" without the game-enforced restrictions- but rather agreements among parties. You can then play out challenges without the offchance of some murderhobo who doesn't like to play by "rules" involving themselves without invitation. Don't know why this is such a "contentious" idea to some.
