The 65000 LY from Sol Club

Not a good thing to ask Akira to do all this work for us while we complain about slow response times, so I tried my hand at collating the data from the past few weeks. It was pretty shocking just how many people arrived in the last few weeks. I suspect DW is probably going to have to be entered as one group, lest Akira go completely batty. Decided not to deal with meetups (have to leave a little work for Akira, after all), but focus on the CMDRs and the history for February. That said... if anyone has any issues / problems / corrections, please let me know.

February 3302
Even as the first CMDRs from the Distant Worlds expedition began their advance to Beagle Point, CMDRs continued to push the boundaries of what was possible, either by taking different ships to Beagle Point, or by racing to Beagle Point to set records for fastest time.
Several commanders completed remarkable runs to the edge of the galaxy in ships that seemed unlikely candidates for a 65k journey.
  • On February 20, CMDR Draco25240 became the first pilot to join the 65k club in an Imperial Eagle. While Draco25240 reached the 65k club without FSD boosts, Draco eventually used boosted jumps to reach a staggering 65,372.43 ly from Sol.
  • Perhaps most surprisingly, CMDR Frawd Digger took a Sidewinder to the edge of the galaxy, crossing the 65k mark on February 27. CMDR Frawd Digger eventually reached a distance of 65,020ly from Sol, setting a record for distance in a Sidewinder.
February also saw the introduction of the idea of racing to Beagle Point as a test of skill and endurance. While the Buckyball Racing League officially disavowed any endorsement of the race due to safety issues, several Buckyrunners raced from Beagle 2 Landing in Asellus Primus to Beagle Point, each in turn setting speed records for their efforts.
  • On February 22, CMDR StokeMeAClipper became the first CMDR to fly from Beagle 2 Landing to Beagle Point in a single session, completing the run in 27 hours, 58 minutes, and 23 seconds.
  • On February 25, CMDR Takaru Minari broke that mark, racing from Beagle 2 Landing to Beagle Point in 25 hours, 23 minutes, and 6 seconds.
  • Less than a day later, on February 26, CMDR Hanekura Shizuka became the first CMDR to complete a run from Beagle 2 Landing to Beagle Point in less than 24 hours, completing the run in 23 hours, 21 minutes, and 58 seconds.

Where is this route detailed?
The one shown in the DW thread requires far more!

This is full tank jumprange, and I have 20 basic, 9 normal and 2 premium, so I'm almost there

While my trip is nothing remarkable, I guess my ship is the first Keelback and my hull is in the worst shape at 20% of any ship that crossed the line.

Hay Cmdr. I am still in the area...would you like to meet up?

Frawd

Ps where is Cmdr Akira?

It would be great! I will begin a session in about 30 minutes, but it is difficult to plan beyond it with our twin baby girls on the back seat!

Great work Hanekura Shizuka! :D
I think I can see one thing wrong though, Rawx asked for his entry (#48) to be updated, not added, so he's already on the list :)
Also, anyone mind showing me where CMDR Dalatrace's entry is? I can't find it anywhere on the thread. (I'm probably blind)

Thanks for the route, I will hang around today at my current position hoping that I can meet CMDR Frawd, but otherwise I'll target the starting point of this route. I was able to collect some Germanium, so the bottleneck is the Cadmium only - in case I need more boost.

Sorry Cmdr...didn't see this until now. If you're still up for a meet-up on Sunday I would be happy to break my holiday... ;)

While my trip is nothing remarkable, I guess my ship is the first Keelback and my hull is in the worst shape at 20% of any ship that crossed the line.

I took off Raw'x's for the time being, as (as Frawd Digger pointed out) it's an addition to a previous run made months ago, not a new run.

Besides that, it would go in March, not February, so we have time to decide. Second... if it goes in the history (and this is probably something we need to decide) what sort of ships should go in history? Am thinking first of each type below a jump threshold... but what jump threshold?

Rawx corrected, which affects other things (such as the history). Dalatrace can be found here.

No worries! Tomorrow sometime between 8 and 11 AM I could be online, with 10 AM as most likely. Time difference between CET and AWST is 7 hours, that makes it between 3 and 6 PM. I will send you a PM!
In the afternoon, we'll be off to check out a temporary NASA exhibition (space madness kicked in, yo :) ).

I'm safely back at Beagle's Point now. I actually got here a few days ago but didn't mention it on this thread until I knew how much further I could get.

I finally managed 65,451 in the end. My normal jump range is 33.36

The last couple of legs were particularly nerve wracking because it was going to use up all my premium boosts and any mistake or transaction server could have left me stranded.

Thanks to you as well, sorry for the glare from my xenon headlights! :)
I thought I might need in a foggy canyon, I'm a bit anxious when approaching ice worlds.

Edit: as a fun fact, our hulls combined are less than 100%. :)

Well, I made it back home - the Dawnbringer is docked safe and sound at Galileo, Sol, around eleven days and six hours after initial takeoff. Looking over the stats of the trip, I noticed a few interesting tidbits:

-I crossed the 500k Ly Total Hyperspace Distance line on the way back.
-The earnings (28'747'651 Cr) were enough to push me from Pioneer (72%) up to Elite.
-The total repair & restock cost came to 110'027 Cr after arriving with 90% Hull. Which seemed to include Integrity.
-The return trip somehow managed to require the exact same number of jumps as the initial run:
CMDR: Takaru Minari
Ship Name: Dawnbringer
Ship Type: Anaconda (2 Jumps, 40.56 Ly Jump Range, 6.43s Refuel/Jump)

Beagle 2 Landing to Beagle Point
Jumps: 1'807
Distance travelled: 69'952 Ly
Average Distance per Jump: 38.71 Ly (95.44% Max Jump Range)

Beagle Point to Sol
Jumps: 1'807
Distance travelled: 69'607 Ly
Average Distance per Jump: 38.52 Ly (94.97% Max Jump Range)

Both Trips Combined
Jumps: 3'614
Distance travelled: 139'559 Ly
Average Distance per Jump: 38.62 Ly (95.21% Max Jump Range)

Dear All
Greetings from Beagle Point. I arrived late last night in my trusty Asp Explorer, the Ella Guru, approximately one month after departure from Jamesons. For a place that is becoming such a tourist beacon it is rather bleak out here. I haven't yet found the local McDonalds, nor does there seem to be an Irish theme pub in the locality. That could be an opening for any entrepreneurs kicking their heels back in the bubble. For now it's very nice and quiet, and finding a prime space on one of the local moons was no problem. There are rumours though of a large stag party heading this way, so things could get somewhat rowdier fairly soon. Think I'll just hang around for a while, claim my '65,000lyr from Sol' club tee shirt, and head off somewhere else. Maybe down south where it'll be warmer and quieter. Hope this postcard gets home before I do. Here are some snaps to show you where I am. Please make sure that the neighbours are still feeding my cat.
Love to All
Starsailor xx

(This greetings card was posted from the vantage point of the Giants' Shoulders upon which I am standing. Gentlepersons of the Age of Pioneers I humbly salute you)
