Thanks. I have wondered if there have ever been issues of two Cmdrs meeting up by chance somewhere out there and then rushing back to try and lay claim before each other. You explorers do seem to be a gentle(manly) breed by nature though, and as you say, nobody's in it for the money.

True, but when you've been out for nearly 9 months (and counting), recognition for your greatest achievement would be nice... As for gentle, many four letter words were yelled. With anger.

I met up with Surly_B a while back, about 12KLY out and deliberately did not even honk any nearby systems on the way in; specifically so I did not run the risk of over-writing any of his discoveries. I think I started honking and scanning again about 1KLY away. With my 39.4LY range it wasn't a huge number of systems missed and I really wanted to make sure I didn't upset the King Rat ;)

Yeah, I actually specifically searched for the thread on Rendezvous Point to check which bodies had already been scanned but not checked in, to make sure I didn't take anyone else's tag.

I can't wait to get back with 39+ Ly of jump range...

I left March 26 - I'll put those details in the report - once I sell all my data! Elite has been reached (I was worried I may just fall short, but I nice surge of big ticket systems has helped push me over the line!), still some data to sell, including a page worth about 2.4m... I've also contributed about 2600 reports to the Lave CG.
