The Asp Explorer - The Pilot

Hey Pilot, I know what you mean about the engine sound. It used to sound like a growling bear when you throttled up and down. I spent 6 months in the AspX exploring way back before planetary landings and only able to plot 1k lys, those were the days....o_OBut at some point I guess FD decided to tone down the sounds.

I know some people really loved that sound, but I am supremely grateful it was turned down. I meant everything in that video. I really do like the Asp a lot better now.

Before I was The Pilot, I was someone else, and I miss my callsign to no end. Delacy - Delta - Oscar - November.

There's a port where the tower is manned by this lovely woman with an accent that always flubs the November, as "Novembah". Loved it everytime I heard it.
Ive almost always been Saud Kruger-Romeo-India-Charlie

It makes me happy :)

I adore the AspX that I spent so long outfitting when I started, just so I could disappear into the black. I miss the louder engine sound too, nothing could beat exiting planetary glide over a new world and throttling up to roar over the mountains and canyons, and it didn't get old. It's still good, just not as good :)

I've been refitting and putting a Guardian FSD booster in her, so before long, I'm going to be heading back out there again, because the black will claim me every time. It's time to be alone again, I think, and bring the glorious sounds of an Asp at full throttle to unseen worlds once more.

They did the same thing with the Adder, it had a high pitch whining sound when throttling up, but it got toned down. Some people like the old ways and some the new, really don't bother me though.:)

Very nice. Once again an excellent vid.

I just rebought an AspX after well over a year. It was the first one I bought a paint pack for way long ago when I had to grind to pay for it. Atm, its a long jumping rescue ship/shuttle. It is a great ship. It took me on my first excursion into the black to the Coal Sack nebula.

Don't know what it is, but I bought an Asp yesterday night and specced it for longrange travel and max jumprange (up here at Colonia). I also have a DBX for that and an Anaconda. I once had a Phantom. But the ASP seems to be THE ship to go for Exploration. It simply fits. Like the Python fits for multiroling up here at Colonia.

I guess I like the Asp...

Still flying my first AspX called Galaxy Prime.
Currently fitted for exploring.
I have a combat one and also another fitted for mining.
Easily my favourite ship.

Just spend a couple of days in it, moderately engineered, and well, what do you know, I've come to like it.... Only, I wish, I could use some arx to take them ridiculous fins away and leave it as it is designed.... no fins whatsoever.

Wouldn't that just be the Asp Scout?

P.S. as for the engine sound... ever sat in a vulture? It sounds like an overcharged.. No, I am not going to say this... kids around and all. :)
