The Bounty Hunting & Bounties tips, and general discussion thread

If there is anything in the name of the faction offering the bounty that may indicate a system you can search for it in the galaxy map. If its something nondescript lije Patrons Principles then its just luck if you visit that system again and check at the station contacts.

I can't understand why people even do those missions. You make so much more doing almost anything else. The mission system is hopefully just a placeholder because at the moment its pointless at best and god awful most the time.

Why? The faction ships are terrible and there is no other point at the moment. Maybe when federal corvette gets released I'll have a reason to care.

Nah. The imperial clipper is a pretty awesome looking ship.

You are wrong about the ships, at least the Imperial Clipper, it is one the best all around ships in the game, good fighter and trader with decent jump range,
and you need Imperial Baron rank to get it.

Yeah, the clipper is a glorious flyer too...finally got A class thrusters and zomg she slides and pivots around like a dream. Turn faster than an A kit Cobra? You bet it can, if you can manage to use the massive yaw speed at the same time as pitching...you'll be spun around before Flight Assist can even stop you from going in your original vector. Do that same turn in FAoff and you might get whip lash.

Plus it carries a lot of cargo for its speed...making it a wonderful trade ship to brave anarchy systems with.

Another Way To Get Rid Of Stray Bounty Clutter?

I think we've all encountered the problem where we've earned bounties via KWS for systems we don't remember going through and have a heck of a time finding again.

What if each of the three faction capitals systems had a special "embassy" where such things could be cleared up, regardless of where they're from? Or perhaps strictly for any Independents plus their own faction systems?

I took on one of these missions last night about 150 bounty and about 1 day and change to complete. My first USS was an alternate offer. And after searching for about 2 hrs last night I couldn't get to my target. In the process of searching again today with aboUT 9 hrs to deadline. And yes it's not the most profitable. But I need to raise my rank not my balance. Will report back if it works today as this never used to take this long. either a bug or a reworking of the mission .

Definitely broken. Abandoned mission and took another with much quicker and more positive result. So if you get alternate offer right off the bat better save yourselves some time and abandon .

The highest I saw was one that was 97 million, and has been caught combat logging. If you do it though, more power to you.

Would be nice if it were possible to destroy space stations.

Didnt someone take down Itchynipples recently for a ~50mill reward? Ive seen pilots with 5-10mill fairly often. It doesnt seem to hard to get a reasonable sized reward, I built up to 100k in a half hour last night. I admire those with the real high bounties though, that takes dedication.

Dont worry about it, you will probably die before claiming them. If they were of a worthwhile size, I suspect you would have claimed them at the time.

I've started avoiding combat sometimes now. I don't like to have clutter in my transactions list, but sometimes I'm on my way somewhere and don't want any delays. Recently, as I was jumping to the next system on my route, I had to metaphorically slap myself as I'd just won a bounty and not collected it before jumping out. It meant I had to come back via that system on my next route.

I think it would be a good idea to have a 'hide minor faction bounty' option on the list, as well as an individual item abandon option (with a "Confirm Yes/No" answer to avoid any expensive misclick mistakes). When you have millions of credits in your balance you don't always want to bother with maybe four-figure values in the list.

This suggestion has been made before, and I agree with it. Its implementation would be easy, too. The UI element for this is already there - FD could just use the same one used for ejecting cargo. One could even use this to increase gameplay depth around bounties: The forfeiture of a bounty could yield some rep and a minor influence push for the faction that issued the bounty (if it's a system faction), since money laid aside for paying the bounty would become free for being spent on other activities.

Biggest NPC Bounties?

Earlier i took down an NPC Anaconda with a 311,497 credit bounty at a Nav beacon. What's the highest bounty you have seen on or claimed from an NPC.

Man. How do you find Anaconda with 311.000 credit bounty?
Anaconda with 300k just came to Nav beacon?
My biggest is less then 150.000 cr.

Congratulations!
