The "Can I Run Planet Coaster" thread

Anyone playing on a laptop close to these specs:

I7 6500 processor
8gb ram
945m nvidia 2gb graphics card
Windows 10

I'm afraid these specs are too close to the minimum requirements

Alpha "tester" reporting and so far I'm very impressed with the performance of the game on my machine. The specs:

Win 10
i7-4771 CPU @ 3.50GHz
8GB RAM
AMD Radeon R7 200 w/ 2GB onboard
Playing at 1920x1200 60Hz full screen, highest quality setting

So far I've built a park with all the available rides, three coasters and a ton of shops and scenery/foliage. The park has ~3k peeps walking around. Currently the number of peeps seems to be capped at about 3k, I've only seen it go over by a little and the number doesn't go up even if placing more rides/coasters. Performance wise, I haven't had a single crash yet, and the game is not too laggy, even if running for several hours straight. Actually, the only lag I have noticed since the park has grown was that menus/buttons load slower when selecting an item, but I haven't seen any graphics slow-down of the park itself. So I must say I'm very impressed with the performance so far!

Rig Specs
i5 4670k (3.4GHz)
16GB RAM
GTX 980 (4GB)
Win 7 64bit

I have about 1200 guests, 5 flat rides, 1 coaster and a whole load of Modular buildings.
Graphics setting on high at 1920x1080.

Stability wise things are good (one crash so far) and I'm getting a steady 45 to 50 FPS at all times.

Alright, so I have a very specific question. Right now I have an iMac '21 inch, Late 2013 with:
Processor: 2,7 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR 3
Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Anyone an idea whether this is capable of running the game in Bootcamp?
Because I don't think so and would like to buy a MacBook Pro (need Apple for work).
Does anyone have any idea whether this is even possible and which one I should choose???

My apologies but I have 0 knowledge of Graphic Cards and such.

Trying to decide if i should drop the $70 and give it a shot. I know i need to upgrade my graphics card but should this be enough to get started atleast? I can run Skylines fairly well.
Processor: AMD A8-7600 Radeon R7, 10 Compute Cores 4C+6G 3.10 GHz RAM: 8.00 GB, Windows 10 64bit

the CPU side of your chip should be enough to play but not sure if the onboard GPU will be it might be enough to play, the cities skylines min requirements a decent chunk lower than the current PC ones but if you are running skylines on medium to high it might work.

Thanks, ill give it a shot. Worst case ill just have to sell my house and buy a new computer. Screenshots look to good to wait till Q4!

My knowledge of iMac is limited at best but looking at the GPU 1.5GB I think you will struggle to run this. Min spec for GPU is 2GB.

Well i downloaded, glad i did. My PC was enough to run the Alpha. It wont be able to handle the full game once you get to building large parks but its playable enough for me to see how awesome it is and that i need a beefy Graphics card before the full release. best $75 i have spent all week.

Hi, will I be able to play it smoothly?

Intel Core i5
6 RAM
Intel HD Graphics 6 RAM
Windows 10.

I can' t compare, as I don't know any of the grapichs cards etc.

I didn't see any answers on that, so I'll try.
I have the same i5/6GB RAM/Intel HD Graphics/W10.

Well, I knew that I was far from minimum/recommended specs when I bought the game.
But I've tried other games with low settings so I gave it a try. :)
So in Options/Settings/Graphics I set Full Screen and then 1024x768 resolution and Effect Setting Medium.
I've only done small parks so far, but it works rather well.
Turning off other programs of course, except autostarting programs.
Me personally I don't mind very low settings.
Don't ever think about default settings and the very best performance the game can give You.
And Mega Parks are out of question.
But I'm used to that kind of limitations and I just love Planet Coaster. :)
There will be a day when I get a better computer and will be able to turn up the settings. ;)

If I can recommend to buy it with specs below recommended minimum specs?
Of course not. You must know what You are doing.
And in worst case scenario be prepared to wait until you've got a new computer.
Things like that have happened before in my life.
I'm not worried, I'm happy with that. :D

Eh, it's just shared with the main pool of ram. Shame there's no way off upping it, RAM is the only sanctioned user-replaceable part on imacs now.

I have a macbook air, quite well specced for what it is, but there's no hope of running it on that (I edit video on it and it ran rct3 well enough but, you know) and I would never consider getting a pc purely for gaming.

Here's a pic from my CPU (top) and Memory (bottom) when I run a small park.
CPU between 50-100%, memory about 80%.
What more can I say? ;)

I'm Currently using a MacBook Pro (mid 2012) and I cant figure out if I can run the game or not. the couple of 'can I run it' sites I have found don't seem to have the ALPHA requirements up yet.

I Have:

- Windows 10
- Intel Core i5 2.5GHz
- 16GB RAM
- Intel Core HD Graphics 4000 Video Card.
- all of my other settings are more than enough, apparently its my dedicated video RAM. but I know for a fact that its higher than this website says. it also told me I cant run The Sims 4 either; despite the fact that I play it regularly on fairly high settings.

I'm confused if I'm honest [noob]

Hi, can I run the game? Cause I don't wanna buy a game for that much money I can't play at the end.

- Windows 10
- Intel Corei5-6300 HQ 2,3 GHz with Turbo Boost to 3,2 GHz
- 8 GB RAM
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M 4GB

Please answer me :)

sorry to say that you most deffinately wont be able to play PC without frequent crashes or issues :( sorry

sorry to say that you will not be able to play PC with the integrated graphics card you have :(

Hi guys,

i'm planning on getting a gaming laptop mainly to play Planet Coaster and Total war games. My current candidate is:

- Dell Inspiron 7559
Intel core i5 6300HQ 2.3 GHz (6M Cache, Turbo up to 3.2 GHz)
8GB RAM
Nvidia GTX 960m 4GB VRAM
Windows 10
256GB SSD

Is anyone currently playing Planet Coaster with this laptop? Also can anyone advise me on whether this laptop would be able to handle the game at at least medium settings and well above 30FPS? Also, should i get the Intel Core i7 instead of i5? The i7 model does not come with SSD installed, and i just want to know if the i7 will give it a significant improvement to justify the SSD tradeoff. Thanks.

you will definately be able to play :)

That really sucks, I've spent nearly $200 on my Mac to put in a windows partition! [bored] it wouldn't be so bad if I could just download a copy to try, and if it didn't work to get a refund. I understand why I cant but at the same time it makes no sense. if a piece of clothing didn't fit and you took it back to the store they wouldn't say "sorry but that's not our fault". you should deffinately be able to try first incase your computer dosen't run it. then half of us wouldn't even have to bother asking this question in the first place.

thanks for your help though.

You would be better staying with the i5 and the SSD and upping the RAM to 16GB if you can. Having an SSD makes everything so much better.
