The "Can I Run Planet Coaster" thread

I decided to buy the game anyways, just to try it out. So far so good. I have five rides, a bunch of scenery items, and over 1k peeps. Runs buttery smooth on medium. [big grin]

Encouraging to hear the game is running on lower end hardware [up]. Quite suprised to hear it's running well on that system, best bit is my laptop is of a similar spec so might be able to get it running on my laptop as well [big grin]

Yeah I was really surprised that my laptop was able to run it on medium. It struggled mightily on hard though. I played a bit more, I have 1.4k peeps and 7 rides still fine. I was worried that I wasted $75 if it didn't run well since there is no refunds but thankfully it does. [cool]

Interesting!

This is making me consider a purchase. My cpu is solid in every area EXCEPT my video card which is only a Radeon HD 7500 (1GB). At some point I will upgrade to the GMX 960 but I don't have the money right now. Anyone manage to get the game running on a Radeon HD 7000 series card? On one of the websites I read that cards made in the last four years should run the game... BUT... there are on guarantees.

Sounds good to me @cookiemonster! Haha! Are you able to play it in high settings?
I think I'm going to buy the laptop this week.

Just to add my experiences.

I have:
i7 4770k 3.5ghz
24gb 1600 ram
480gb ssd
msi radeon 7970 3gb.

I use 1080p and in medium settings I get around 40fps on a well populated (rides lights peeps etc)park. On high setting, this drops to about 13fps. I do find this a little surprising, but I am not investing in a new card just for this and cities!

Loving the game though.

Hi there,

I'm considering buying a new laptop. A gaming laptop, because I'm so sick of my old laptop and iMac, I can never play games like I want to play games.
So, I am considering buying the ASUS Rog GL552VW-CN471T.

Intel Core i7-6700HQ
RAM: 8GB
Storage: 1 TB HDD
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M (2GB)
Windows 10 Home

My question is, because I don't know much about requirements etc... Will I be able to play Planet Coaster on high settings on this laptop?

Thanks in advance! :)

it absolutely should :) i see no reason why it wont :)

My specs are as follows:
Windows 10 64bit
Intel Core i5-2500k
8GB DDR3 Ram
Dual Nvidia GTX 560Ti in SLI

Even on low settings the game is very chopy

why would you go a 560TI in sli? i hope you're using multiple monitors otherwise its a huuuge waste of money to go SLI

im using this:
i7 5820k, non overclocked,
8gigs of ddr4 ram
asus gtx960, overclocked using their dedicated software

didnt benchmark the game yet, but im guessing ill go over 60fps on max with this

I want to share my "benchmark".

Intel Core i7 3770k (overclocked to 4.2 GHz)
12 GB RAM
GTX 970
Installed on a Samsung EVO SSD

I am getting a solid 40 to 60 FPS, however there are certain objects that seem to sink my framerate because lightning seems to take no toll on my framerate but certain pirate objects lag.

I'm looking to buy a new laptop and I have an opportunity to buy this one with a good discount :

  • CPU: Processeur Intel® Core™ i7-4710MQ @ 3.5
  • OS: Windows 8.1
  • GPU: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 970M
  • RAM: 16Go DDR3L 1600 MHz
  • SSD: 128Go
  • HHD : 1 000Go
  • Screen : 17,3" 1920x1080 Pixel

Do you think it's enough to play Planet Coaster in good or very good conditions ?

Thank you

That should run Planet Coaster just fine. If you can run the alpha at a decent framerate then you can safely assume you will run the game at its fullest once its more polished and optimized

My husband and I are super excited about Planet Coaster. We both want to play and he doesn't have his own laptop at this time. So, I have two questions about playability.

1) This is my current laptop. I seriously doubt it will play the game at all, but how far off am I? I originally bought the laptop just as a computer and not at all for gaming. What would I need to upgrade and how difficult is it? I am not capable of any DIY work on a computer. I know the RAM is too low and I'm pretty sure I'd need a dedicated graphics card?? Better/easier to upgrade or get a new laptop?

2) Is this a good laptop for the hubby to play planet coaster? If I was going to put money into it, I'd rather get something that can play at at least the mid-level requirements if not high.

Thank you for all your help as this lost wife works to try and find the perfect birthday/Christmas gifts for him.

not too big of a fan about that graphics card, processor graphics are very ❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎ and you'll probably see issues with the game on that. same goes for RAM, i'd suggest upping it to atleast 8GB

on the hearts there should be "bad" that starts with an S :p also, i'd recommend something like this: http://www.amazon.com/GL552VW-DH71-...qid=1461540786&sr=8-6&keywords=asus+i7+laptop

but my main question, is a laptop a need for him? if he's okay with a desktop, i would suggest getting one of those, and if he's handy, get him the parts. so he got something to build :D its cheaper and you can put in there whatever you want, making it as expensive as you want. for 900-1000$ you got a pretty good gaming pc!

I have

AMD A8-5500
12 g Ram
AMD Radeon HD 5450
1TB Hdrive

What chance have I of running it?....Please

your cpu might be enough to run it, RAM is ok but your GPU is well below the required one, it might still work but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

What about

RAM: 8gb
CPU: Intel Core i7 4710-HQ
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 850m 2gb

I imagine my GPU is going to be the bottleneck here. I'd be happy to get 20fps on low settings, tbh.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be attempting to install Planet Coaster onto my dual CPU (32 logical cores) server with 64 GB of RAM, 980 ti hybrid, and an ssd. I want to see how many cores the game can utilize and whether it scales better with cores or core speed (I bet its core speed) Maybe I will be able to do 60 FPS stable!

I will post back in a few days if all goes well :p

Hi everyone! I need your help! I have:

4.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost up to 4.4GHz)
16GB RAM
Mixed SSD Hardrive
AMD Radeon R9 M295X with 4GB of GDDR5 memory

Do you think it will run ok... Thanks for the help!
