The Circumnavigation of Mercury

Less than 900km to go.

^^ I hope the streaming meets with approval rather than my weak puns and attempts at pseudo-science. Any suggestions about improving the quality of the video (as opposed to the content) would be appreciated.

I hope CMDR Alec Turner can see that I've learnt a good few of the techniques he showed me. I do like the feeling of being almost, but quite completely, in control.

Several days ago the Mauve Adder became extinct; either St. Patrick banished them all or The Simpsons had a whacking day on Mercury. Whoever it was, I'm grateful.

12 degrees travelled today - you can see I'm keen to get home; that's 511km. Driving and flying in the daylight, along with my new flying skills, has speeded up the journey. The project is now 94% complete with 851km remaining.

Here are the stats for the current location. Two days should be enough to complete the mission (oops, I shouldn't have said there was a mission). If I rest tomorrow that will bring me to (0,-110) on Saturday.

At this time and location, the altitude of Sol was 10 degrees. Twenty degrees to the East, Sol has an altitude of 30 degrees compared with about zero degrees when I started 37.5 days ago. So, the terminator has moved approximately 1 degree per day to the West - rather less than expected.

As this is a ten-degree waypoint, here's the sysmap view.

I'm afraid that my plans to join you will not materialize. I've just got too much RL stuff to do at the moment. I managed to get my Orca to Mercury over the last week but that was about it, unfortunately... I wish you many good hops and jumps for the remainder of the journey!

Sorry you won't be able to join me :(
However, thanks for the support and good wishes throughout. (y)

Did I say I was taking a break today? I can smell the end of the trip. For all you Jane Austen fans out there, I've been saving the postilion for the gate.
