The CODE messing with Yum Kamcabi system and the CG

You don't reason with viruses either, silly.

You eradicate them utterly by finding the treatment that destroys them and purging them from your system.

Last I checked, superior firepower worked. Get to it.

You ever hear the the phrasing that "Cure the disease and kill the patient" Bacon said it best.

Anyhow that is what it would take. Kill the spirit of the game to cure it of its disease.

This game will never be COD in space. If that is what you wish, then you go and play COD because it has no place here.

CQC was created for quick action with little to no lasting effect. If you lose a ship in CQC they dont delete it from your roster or charge you millions to get into another ship. They choose not to partake in it because its an even playing ground. To be good in CQC you have to have some kind of piloting skill and everyone has access to the same equipment as you do. Since they have no interest in competitive play, they avoid CQC because they cant deal with the possibility of losing.

Eventually FDEV will be forced to put their foot down or risk losing a huge source of income. They must not have run off enough new players or caused enough veteran people to stop playing the game.

Wait, what... oh god time to read seven pages...

So, we have a problem at this point in time. We have the code ruining the CG by unfairly interdicting people, and either ending them or forcing them to drop their stuff with the threats of killing them. I myself am sick of this and would like to get a group of strong players to run them out. Who would like to join me?

Wonderful initiative. Not sure what you mean by unfair, though.

2v1 with a cutter that makes it to where no one that can beat the interdiction can get away, with a fer de lance with him. Thats fair right?

It's called being efficient at blockading.

Yesss, we're killing the spirit of the game by defending ourselves.

That's the mentality I like to see!

In cattle....

I must say I am confused by the responses here - unless all respondents are pirates themselves.
Why wouldn't/couldn't/shouldn't someone organize a counter-pirate action?

Piracy is piracy irregardless if you consider it legitimate or not.
Even if these are "good pirates" playing by the "good pirate" rules (and since much stock was placed on the RP aspects of it) what system government or group(s) encouraging the CG would tolerate piracy? They wouldn't - they would organize something to rid the system and CG of pirate activity.

I must say I'm confused by your response, the OP is calling for help. Most replies are calling OP's description of "unfairness" into question. Let's not play red herring.

"The Chode" at it again eh.

....

The Code indeed.

As am I .. it's as if the people responding lack the intelligence to comprehend the OPs message, or perhaps see what they want to see and respond to that instead

To OP : I can't join you, but good luck in gathering a posse to give them Pirate dogs some whippings!

I really doubt the intelligence of people confused by the responses pointing out fundamental flaws in the OP's statement, but oh well.

Part in bold green is a call to arms, not for a discussion on piracy.

And if people choose to discuss another part of the OP, it's apparently not okay?

That's rich.

He explicitly asked for people to join him (in combat) but made no reference to having a conversation.

Could this not be a case of "see what you want to see" ? Granted, if you believe he is wrong in his assertion (the part you bolded) that could be a talking point but I do not believe that was the intent with his thread.

Are you telling people how to interpret the entirety of another's statement by prioritizing importance for them?

"The immigrants are taking our American jobs and ruining the American market, can anyone help?"

Are you surprised that people start talking about the qualifier of "immigrants"?

I to am happy to see Code involved!

On the other hand OP...I'll just avoid Code by running in my own private group with a few friends! Thanks for the invite though!

Your post is Code approved and the winner of this thread. Thank you.

.-.

Red tapes man... jumping over them like that...

Now I have to buy more tape .-.

Wonderful.

A lot of pro-PvP sentiment in this thread :)

Thankfully for once.

You guys remember when the code were called griefers for blockading and pirating? How things have changed.

Refreshing breath, yes.

Can I have a go with your tarrot cards/crystal ball/wild speculation engine next please?

I'd very much like the lottery numbers so I can get a new graphics card.

A group of petty thieves calling themselves "The Code" have decided to make Yum Kamcabi their temporary home. They have been robbing innocent traders and then violating and murdering the passengers and crew of the ships. They target honest traders like you and me trying to feed our children while selflessly working towards the greater good in the form of a community goal. The Code threatens our society and all that we stand for. Our once great system teeters on the brink of ruin.

NO MORE WE SAY!
We will no longer let these pirates steal with impunity!
We will no longer let what's rightfully ours be taken from us!
We will no longer let them snatch the food from our children's mouths!

Together, we will assemble the greatest militia that Yum Kamcabi has ever seen.
Together, we will wipe out every last pirate once and for all.

Stand up for justice! Join the Yum Kamcabi Militia now!

* Postage and handling charges apply. Obtain parents permission before enlisting if under 18. Bring your own Gatorade.

Imagine if that had been the original post, and the Code decided to respond with pirate voices (yarrr!) It could have become an amazing PvP event, with Solo/PG traders going into Open just to for laughs.

Or maybe I'm too much of an optimist. :/

Cheers for the lol!

Also good to see you chaps back in force (of sorts).

I'll have to dust off my blockade running skills when I get back. :)

Yup the cycle of life is fed by frontiers predictable CG driving storyline gameplay grindfests and associated hunters. The BGS isnt ready for anything more than limited static changes..... Good work to the code by making things interesting

Working as intended.
Go Code go!

Could still happen...

Did whole thing in open. Got interdicted and shot at a couple times and escaped pretty easily. Finished in top 25% with no losses. Just another CG, as far as I was concerned.

However the non thematic non pirate griefing groups are more of a virus and add nothing to the game. Just like viruses we dont know why they attack us, they cant be reasoned with, hardly anything if anything at all stops them, they constantly find new invasive vectors in which to infect, and do more harm than good. Not only do they consume the host they try to consume all hosts until nothing left is alive including themselves. A self defeating organism.
It's the smell, if there is such a thing. I feel saturated by it!
