Oh the smell of freedom, even in socialist countries.

Denmark are a parliamentary democracy with a Monarch and a coalition government, not sure how you'd confuse that with socialist.

Never mind though, more vaccine being available for those worth protecting is good news.

A good thing here.

In France too it will be very difficult to make vaccination compulsory.

1 in 2 people do not want to receive the vaccine.

It’s too early and not far enough behind.

In any case, availability will be limited and reserved for nursing staff and the elderly.

Do not confuse socialist and communist.

France is a democracy and a republic with a parliament and a senate and opposition political parties. Freedom of expression is the norm.

And yet it was often socialist. :)

Here is a survey in progress in France (58000 participants to date).

Are you considering getting vaccinated against Covid ?

I believe it will be almost mandatory for caregivers.

I mean, ask their opinion. I would bet that there are not too many anti-vaxers, among the nursing profession and if they state publicly, that they would be happy to take it, it should stamp out the anti-vax noise.

The government does not have the right or authority to put something in your body without your consent. If they do try this it's morally the same as sterilizing the disabled. The individual starts and ends with the body, any government that violates that is not worth your respect.

But it is known that the medical staff are for the vaccine.

It's normal because they are on the front line.

But healthcare workers represent a very small part of the population.

Not being first in line to get a brand new vaccine developed in record time is not being suspicious, it's simply being careful.
.........Especially, when you think, that most of the current options, still need 'emergency use' authorisation and both governments and the companies that make it, are calling for it to be approved.

I said before: The first 'takers' of this vaccine, will be the 'voluntary' phase 3 test subjects. A new meaning of catch 22.

If we vaccinate everybody, it is bad for natural selection.
(I have finally come around.)
You know, that is what freedom is, your choice not someone else! It’s like when you have a small village of let’s say 50 people, and only 10 of those can hunt, then 26 of the villages decide that the 10 need to supply the village with food, but no pay or exchange of service, I think the 10 would say that and leave. You just can’t say you have to do whatever just because you’re a majority!

The ten would likely have children spouses and elderly relatives in the other forty who would all contribute in their own way, the ten would also be thinking of who would look after them if they were injured in the hunt if they had any sense.

The silly thing about the example you replied to is, 'but no pay or exchange of service'. Like that would be the offer on the table, for the only ones that can hunt for the tribe?

I glossed over that since shelter, loved ones, company, cooking, fire hardened spears and somebody sewing skins into pants all seem to be something gained for the hunters from the tribe from the people he regards as non-contributors.

All without anyone having to invent currency before the wheel or farming.
