The Deep Space Support Array (DSSA) | A FleetComm Initiative

Hello commanders.

I have two ship-carriers (Yeah I have two accounts). They were used to help my team-mate mining and exploring the bubble. But now, we don't have any use of them so rather than destroying them; I wonder if I can add them to the DSSA network.

I had the idea of putting them on the road between the bubble and Sagittarius A*.

The first one, DSSA Void Crusader is on the way to Eidaills QT-P d6-112 already. It's mainly halfway I guess.

The second one, DSSA Void Pilgrim will be put way further 5/6KLy away from the center I guess.

Thank you for your time.

Hello DarkDiablo,

If you haven't already, please fill out the application form for the DSSA Reserve List.

I would like to assign my Fleet Carrier to the DSSA project. I have enough credit to keep it in force for the next 10-15 years, so that's not a problem. I can't seem to find a link anywhere for the "DSSA Reserve List"....

Notice to Remove DSSA FCs from Tracking List

Final notice regarding DSSA FC deployment status. If you are one of or know any of these CMDRs, please DM me:

Reserve List Update

Over the course of the past week, seven CMDRs signed-up for the DSSA Reserve List. I am happy to say that all seven have been offered deployments.

I currently have one remaining vacancy to fill: Orion-Cygnus Arm

I am certain that more areas will become available over the next couple of months, so this is a great time to sign-up for the DSSA...

The DSSA Reserve List Form is: https://forms.gle/CV2kwXM2nVLF7Cmn7

And for those who are curious, we currently have 60 FCs deployed, 8 underway and 35 in various stages of planning and preparation.

o7 Cmdrs...

Added the 'Eremita-Carcinus' / XZ4-NXF to the Reserve list ....

I had originally planned private deployment just west of DSSA 'Will's Haven' / B25-J4N on western edge of Perseus - bordering Outer Arm (Choomoea Sector) - but would be OK with Orion-Cygnus...These O-C sectors look less explored on the EDAstro Saturation map:

I have @ 9500 Tritium on board (left over from supporting multiple initial FC deployments)...Probably need 1-2 weeks notice to 'causally' gather fuel (@ 4500 tons?) / refit to be ready....But will fueling assistance - I could have my alt account handle the enroute refuels...so I could be ready this weekend?

Cheers!

Hey Folks, I am not registered however I do have some Tritium, I'd be happy to donate a few thousand T's to the cause. I'm happy to fly out a couple of k's to wherever you need.

TY for the offer, Solhex! Because each DSSA FC is essentially its own expedition, CMDRs are making their own arrangements. Best place to offer would be on the FleetComm Discord in one of the DSSA channels.

I'm hoping TFS Carpe Vinum stays where it is, as it's directly within my path to get a fix up.... I've been out in the void so long have nothing to donate though :(

Future benefits for supporting the DSSA;
  • All DSSA Carriers could become well-known staging posts for deep space travellers and expedition organisers to utilise when planning their journeys, as well as potential mining outposts; where miners get to ply their trade in some of the remotest and visually stunning mining locations so far discovered.
  • If the mining outposts become popular, then DSSA Carrier locations will become hubs for the establishment of Tritium storage, with a market supply for all other Carriers passing through those sectors.
  • The launch of each DSSA Carrier as its sets off on its maiden voyage will be an event in itself. And each mission that is sent out will provide opportunities for players to take part in the logistics of getting these behemoths to their respective destinations.
  • Finally, the DSSA will be the foundation on which Distant Worlds 3 will be built upon - and more details of this will be announced once FDev reveal information on the Odyssey update.

Please support the DSSA Initiative if you can, whether that's to provide a Carrier itself (speak to Qohen about that!), or logistical support in helping set up the Array, or helping with some distant trade and upkeep maintenance to whichever Carrier happens to be in your neck of the woods when you're out in the black.

GMP recognition

Once your DSSA Carrier reaches its designated location and begins its service with the DSSA initiative, you can register it as a POI with the Galactic Mapping Project. Even if the location you are stationed at has an existing POI marker on EDSM, please still submit the required information.

When submitting your Carrier details to the GMP you must submit the info in this format and order;

Endeavour travelled with the Aphelion fleet in June 3306, and reached Beagle Point on June 20th 3306.

As well as being part of the DSSA network, Endeavour's place at Beagle Point stands as a permanent monument dedicated to all deep space explorers who have visited the outer rim, past, present, and future.

Registering your DSSA Carrier POI with the Galactic Mapping Project

The following are the current stipulations (but they may be subject to change at some point);

The Galactic Mapping Project (GMP) will be adding DSSA Carriers to EDSM as 'points of interest'- they'll be marked as deep space outposts on the galactic map subject to the following conditions;
  • To receive a POI (point of interest) marked on EDSM, your Carrier needs to be registered with the DSSA.
  • Your Carrier name must conform to the GMP naming stipulation guidelines. The GMP reserves the right to change the name of your POI if your Carrier name does not conform to those guidelines.
  • Your POI is considered temporary and will only remain on the maps for however long your Carrier is part of the DSSA (with permanent status being earned as outlined below).
  • If you complete 2 years continuous DSSA service in a fixed location, your POI will become permanent - even if you decide to leave the initiative and move on after those 2 years. Your permanent POI will be registered as a historical location or colony (depending on how the DSSA evolves over time), and it will be a testament and acknowledgement of your DSSA service for ever more.
  • All registered DSSA Carriers will initially receive a POI. However to prevent the maps from becoming cluttered with too many Carrier POI's over time, the GMP reserves the right to combine POI markers in a particular region if/when they deem it necessary. This is something we want to avoid doing, but in the unlikely event it occurs, it will be done in chronological order, with the first regional sign-ups on the DSSA trackerbeing given priority POI status (Qohen Leth has the timestamps for this).
    • If this occurs, secondary and tertiary DSSA Carriers in a particular region will instead be fully referenced (inc. system locations) in the POI description text of the primary DSSA Carrier POI for that region.

I just want to say, I couldn't think of a reason to eventually get a FC, but this project is one. I am a long way from owning one, but when I do I will sign up.

In the mean time I will join the Discord and see if there's any smaller ways I can help.

I think your cartographic data is worth at least a year of upkeep, so you have a lot to offer ;)

Depends.... I am heading back to the bubble and 2 Carriers I have come across both have their Cartographic's off /decommissioned !!

I will say that both were parked up at nebula though.
(May not want commanders nicking their nebula tags ?? )

Stephen Benedetti mentions getting badges for visiting carriers ... I want to do that, could someone give me details on how I register that I've visited each carrier? (Please)

That's an oof.
Also carriers only get 12.5% of your data sellings, that is really not much.
