Just bought a hauler (lost my docking computer in the process?) anyway, trying to find where I originally got one for my sidewinder, cannot find one now im in the Hauler, any help chans?
Request docking when you're close to the entrance so that it doesn't take very long, at most takes 2 minutes if you do it that way.
That said, it almost destroyed my hauler, for some reason every time it lands on the pad, it slams down like a psycho. Smashed me up real good.
Unless you're drunk, or unless the AI improves, don't use it.
I've tried it from directly in front of the letterbox at Aulin about 100m out and I was taken vertically up and ended up bouncing along the edge of the outer rim of the 'wheel'.
I just don't understand how (from memory) the old Elite which used what, 16k or something managed this with precision and here we are thirty years later and my 5 year old could do a better job of parking a ship.
Just doesn't make sense.
I was quite pleased listening to Blue Danube watching my ship dock (albeit a bit slowly) but then it seemed to get confused about orientation and flew sideways down to the floor for a bit before recovering and flying over to the bay. Then it preceeded to land right in the middle but docking didn't complete and there was the horrid scraping sound as it slid all over the bay - but wasn't damaging shields. I couldn't figure out how to turn it off so had to save/exit. On re-docking I did not slow down enough to engage the docking computer while entering the station and at no point after that did it engage (so I had to land manually). Anyone else seen this?
I have lakon 6 and docking can be sometimes really hard, but if i get it, will i crash about all things when docking computer is on? Have u lost u ships because that computer? It is safe?
