I have just noticed that reputation with a certain faction does not translate to the same faction in other systems. So, you must gain rep for factions system by system?

I've been gaining rep with Empire League in CD-75 661 and am now Allied. My main goal is to get the Achenar Permit. I didn't receive the request so I decided to move closer to Achenar. The closest system I found with Empire League was Herengul. I ran two charity missions for them to get the ball rolling and both returned as Neutral ... I guess I am not in their database yet. :S

Anyone else notice this?

I'm confused - you're Allied with the Empire? If so, all organisations loyal to the Empire should also show as Allied.

Are you Neutral/Friendly with the Empire?

Easy fix: Go to Mara or Angurongo and run the missions where they ask for 5-6 Non-Lethal Weapons; it'll get you Allied to the Empire - and all umbrella organisations - in no time flat

rep has always been system based....its not transfered to another system even if the same faction is in control ( not something ive seen yet i admit) but the devs have been quite clear on this from the off

I am Allied with Empire universally and Empire League Faction in CD-75 661. But in Herengul, even though it shows as Allied in my right panel, when I do missions for Empire League they show my progress as Neutral.

Now that is rather strange - I can't say I've encountered this issue myself TBH. Now I'm baffled, trying to work out a mental flowchart of how it's worked for me and how it's appearing to work for you.

Bayaz is struck by Kandarus' Problem of Confusion +3, causing critical left hemisphere damage.

Edit: Every organisation that's Allied with the Empire shows as Allied to me, even the ones I've never done work for. Maybe ticket this?

Yeah there is a big disconnect between your reputation as seen in the right hand ui screen and the "mission" rep with local factions.

i got allied with federation only by handing in bounties and exploration data, as a result, i show as allied in the right hand screen, and green on the scanner with any local faction that is fed affiliated, they also greet me with the "welcome honoured ally" whenever I request docking.

After completing a mission however, the summary screen still shows me as neutral/friendly/unfirnedly etc and there are still a LOT of missions that are unavailable because they don't trust me enough yet.

...basically, it looks like the "reaction" department and "bulletin board" department of a given minor faction are completely seperate entities in the back end of the code somewhere, and don't seem to talk to each other

I'm starting to wonder if it is worth it to move to a system closer to the place you want to get a permit for or stay put where you have high rep with that faction and hope for the best.

I am alled universially with Feds & Empire, but sometimes missions from their factions that also shows as Allied to me on the right panel is not available because apparently "they do not trust me enough". Really? You don't trust your "ally" to bring you 2 tons of TEA?

No reputation for non-mission activities

I just wanted to check if you could help me investigate this. I have done bounty hunting at Nav Beacons and i am currently trading commodities. So no mission, just other activities. Since "forever" i have gotten (and im sure you have too) reputation (blue up arrow) for commodity runs and taking down wanted ships. But since 1.05 (i think) i get no reputation anymore for at least the 2 activities i mentioned.

Would be awesome if someone could check this and report back, or if you already noticed this and could leave a comment so we know if we should ticket this.

EDIT: I think i might see rep with the 1 group when trading commodities. Not sure yet if it is from that activity or some other missions i did before, i have to do some more runs to test this, but i never see rep with main factions anymore like i did before. Like getting rep with FEDERATION, EMPIRE and ALLIANCE - major factions.

I can safely report that dumping over 1 million credits worth of exploration data not only improved standings but turned a faction green for me today.

Thank you. Did you happen to see if it was rep with 1 group only (the one running the station you sold the data to) or also with the main faction? Previously you got rep with the main faction AND with the group you turned in bountys, exploration data, commodities and mined ore to. Now it seems you get rep only from the group running the station which will make you friends with them, but not towards their main faction.

It might be a change in the new patch. Just want to know for sure cause i never see any up arrow with the main factions anymore. Only with the smaller group in that faction. Unless doing missions. I also became friendly with a group last night although still neutral with the main faction.

As far as I know, bounty hunting is the only non-mission-activity that doesn't add reputation. I don't know, whether this is due to a bug or works as intended, though.

Dont think so mate. It seems its the new way it works. And we need to get more information on this because how does it work now? Do you do more work for a group and then it will accumulate enough to rep up with the main faction, or do you have to do work for several groups within a major faction to up the rep with it, or is it only missions from now on upping rep with major factions? No idea. But i seem to get no rep with the major faction. Only with groups. At least from activities other than missions.

This is wrong my friend. ALL activities give rep. There is a list somewhere in this forum that shows that everything give you rep. And i have bounty hunted since months and ALWAYS got rep with group + its major faction until now. So something changed or bugged out.

EDIT: I just dropped in a big haulage to a station and i got no rep from the group or its faction even though they need the commodity. Either its bugged or FD made it very tough now to gain rep compared to previously.

Yes, but we are talking about now. Since just a day or so back.

Small update: After doing a bunch of trading i all of a sudden had up arrow on the major faction. So instead of showing it instantly it now comes up quite some time after. It was instant before like for example dropping off bountys you saw the up arrows instantly. Same with commodities. But its happen slower now, the displaying of it that is. Gonna keep a close eye on this. And especially test bounty hunting again since i NEVER saw rep last night from dropping in maybe around 100 bountys. Never once saw up arrow on any of the groups or factions which is very strange. And bounty hunting gain rep normally much much slower than trading or missions, and last night i got nothing (seemingly) for a big bucket of bountys.

Trading with any station in data or goods will give a standing increase with the controlling faction of the station. I think that the changes from bounty hunting had more to do with the faction of the ships that you destroyed, your standing will fall with the faction that the ship belongs to and rise with the others, well that is how it used to work but I have a feeling that where the Devs are trying to stop Local Authority ships from attack you for hitting wanted ships of their faction it my have impacted on standing changes with the local factions as well.

Did that happen from last update a few days back? We are talking about now and not how it worked before. I also gained rep before, but last night i leaved in maybe 100 bounties and i never got a blue up arrow. Not with the group running the station or with the main faction. I always got rep before the new patch leaving in bounties. So this is now we are talking about, and not how it has worked before. Im going to do some runs in a couple of hours and see if it has changed. Maybe one of these server maintanences fixed it.

Ive done this long enough to see when something changed. ~100 bounties left in to the same station and not a single rep gain is not normal.
