The explanation you have all been searching for

I could not see all of you scrambling for answers any longer, so I will provide at least the ones I have. Please do not ask me who I'm, or how do I know this stuff, or any other questions that I simply can not answer. I can at least tell you this much, I have a YouTube channel and deep roots in the video game industry. My association with all the other youtubers as well as professionals within the video game industry allows me a few perks. After the reaction of the Planet zoo community in regards to the upcoming DLC, it just feels wrong to keep silent. Planet Coaster paved the way for what you now know as Planet Zoo (The original plan was for a game based on a safari concept) As work progressed and new ideas popped up, the transition to a game that was based on modern day zoos took place. You guys have no clue how much work went into this game, and still does, it is not as simple as we all want it to be. There is another issue, that you guys do not see, the players with a high volume of traffic in YouTube really control this game, that is why you see the community managers always giving preference to their ideas. It is free advertisement, and frankly it worked really well with Planet Coaster. Sadly the great majority of them, just look at their videos have very little knowledge about what a real zoo should look like, they just like building parks that keep on viewers coming and for this they need the construction pieces to be added. Now without pointing fingers, or naming anyone, they have pushed this game from the path of it being about zoos and animals and more of a theme park with animals. I can tell you to expect even a few rides to be added. I wish I had better news for you, maybe with all this, something does change, but do not hope it. Until recently there was not even any plans to add additional foliage scenery, since some of the guys working on that left Frontier, it was all about the construction pieces and a few animals to just complement the theme. That is all I got, but I hope it helps, just enjoy the game for what it is. I can not give much info about this, but there is a north American based company that has started work on a zoo game as well, but that will be a couple of years away, when it does come however, it will have the benefit of a ton of feedback from this community.

Thank goodness a lot of YouTubers work on traditional, old low budget zoos. Maaaaybe a little bit of research would have made this post a little more believable.

@Incognito_SUR im not calling you a liar but if there is another company making a zoo game to go head to head with planet zoo it better be pretty darn good lol. Also your theory that frontier only listens to YouTubers is already proven false with the feedback and changes they’ve made to this game from feedback on the forums. And to say YouTubers can only build theme park type zoos is wrong Sdanwolf among many others have made very authentic real life zoos.

Good example. Sdanwolf, DeLadysigner, Geekism, BeyondDrewTV, Maskedbandit, BestinSlot to an extend...
To be fair, I do believe that the bigger influencers are quite powerul and their feedback has a strong impact on the game. But zo say all of them are only building theme parks and theme park similar zoos is bluntly wrong.

@Swjosdotschka your right they probably do have some influence on the game for sure. Now I’ll admit I’ve watched many a YouTuber who have built a little over the top and said to myself it’s beautiful but maybe not the most realistic zoo piece ever. But to say they aren’t capable of doing this at all is unfair and crazy as many have made great zoos. Also I’d like to say what we all already know or most anyway. Frontier has done a great job of listening to all community members and have made changes due to feedback right here. Variants and more interactions that was very much feedback from the all community members. Also I do hope the game receives competition in the future as well as I love zoo sim games and would more then likely support both. I hope gaming companies are inspired from frontier and see the desire and demand for more zoo sims.

Some top zoos are highly themed so theme packs are important. It's also worth pointing out that the construction part of these games is what keeps them alive for years after release, so it's important to not neglect it if they want a legacy. It's a balance I feel. There are lots of different kind of players: those that want a management game, those that want to build their dream zoo. Some dream zoos are fantastical, and why shouldn't you be able to do amazing things. I am a player that does a bit of everything. Also worth highlighting that planet coaster didn't always have theme packs. Later they had ride only.

You guys actually believe this post? The first lines (up till a few perks) are pretty obvious. Seen this type of posts many times when something happens.

Yeah, haven't we all waited for a mysterious insider to enlighten us?
The upcoming free update proves you wrong at least partly - I think a great deal of the feedback from this community has impacted the modifications to the management system. And quite many of the "influential youtubers who control the game" have uttered opinions and suggestions that were not in the "theme parc direction" but about the importance of the animals as the heart and center of the game. I really don't see the point of your "warning".

just enjoy the game for what it is.

We can agree on that, I guess. I do enjoy it.
