Repped... Ace work. Looks very professional...

However (and this is not directed at the magazine....) For the love of everything that is holy and pure, FDEV, PLEASE COMMISSION SOME NEW ARTWORK of your Powers... One single JPG per power is really scraping the bottom of a very, very cheap barrel... It's been what? How many years? Surely you could have at least worked up a 3D model so that you don't have to rehash the same flipping picture again and again and again and again and again and again. It's almost as if the Power NPCs are cardboard cutouts with no depth or character...

Now these articles need to be in Galnet audio!

brilliant work, it felt I was in a dentists waiting room, flicking through this issue awaiting my check up ;-)

This doesn't look professional... it IS professional!

Very well written article about the Enigma event and what happened! That's how to do it in its best way.

I have much respect for SAGi, but that piece about Canonn was way over the top.

"They went so far as to demand the release of Federal data on these artefacts, and carried out merciless terror strikes on Federal targets when their demands were not obeyed."

I was like, huh?

I'm sure a number of our commanders attacked federal convoys in the early days to grab Thargoid Sensors, but I'm sure those convoys came under much heavier pressure from other groups.

Then the writer went on to say that "They have revealed top-secret information, attacked government ships, and stolen many, if not all, of their research materials. There are also whispers of kidnapping, attempted assassinations, murder, manipulation of the black market, terrorism, and political manipulation on a massive scale."

What????

The level of investigative journalism that went into that piece is not at all commensurate with the claims it makes, and not at all at the same level as the other SAGi articles.

Most of it is public knowledge - I'm not sure, did you also complain to Galnet when they published these?:

Dr. Arcanonn is quoted as saying: "This information blackout is outrageous, they have to understand that they have no right to withhold this information..."

"Some members of our community are done with waiting to be fed lies, simply to allow the Federation to perhaps continue to acquire some perceived military advantage. If no information is forthcoming immediately I cannot be held responsible for the consequences."

When asked to clarify exactly what this implied, Dr. Arcanonn declined to comment further.

In a possibly related development reports suggest some Federation convoys are being shadowed by groups of unidentified combat ships.

"Over the course of the weekend hundreds of tons of Bio-Waste were dumped in and around stations in 78 Ursae Majoris. This system is currently undergoing preparations for President Halsey's arrival as part of her planned grand tour. A group calling themselves 'The Canonn' claims responsibility for this act. "

“It doesn’t matter who I am. My message is clear and simple. You have all been deceived by a charismatic individual calling himself a scientist, full of misled ambitions, going by the name of Dr Arcanonn. He is taking advantage of the picture in your head of him being peaceful and reasonable for the greater good, but your support is being utilized and shamefully exploited. But who am I to trust? What do my words of prudence, my voice of sanity matter?”

“Just look at his last statement, indirectly acknowledging terrorism, clearly showing that he is willing to do everything to achieve his own goals.”

On a side note, I believe these were submitted to Galnet by your own PR people... just sayin'

Just thought it was worth addressing the Canonn members who have raised eyebrows at this article.

Yes, it's a ludicrous piece. We know that Canonn weren't the only ones attacking Federal convoys and barnacles etc. Of course we do. Not only that, but many of our team were among those doing those things (and I'm told several of our team are Canonn members themselves). We don't really think that Canonn players have single-handedly brought about the Thargoid attacks, of course we don't.

This is a piece of roleplay. It's designed to add colour to the game universe, in the same way that Galnet articles condemning Salome were. As such I'm probably prouder of it than any other story we've written to date.

In-universe, please feel free to condemn the 'malicious representation of Canonn by some gutter press publications' or whatnot - that's all part of the fun, go ahead. But don't mistake our intentions. Any animosity should remain firmly in-character, where it was intended.

If you do feel the need to be angry at anyone, know that the article was originated by the editors and merely executed by the author.

It's all a question of interpretation. Warning people about consequences is not the same as carrying out or even condoning terrorism. The one galnet article about a group calling itself The Canonn claiming responsibility happened before my time, otherwise I would have raised hell (anyone could have laid claim to those attacks). Ditto for the anonymous transmission.

Look, I just think the article went a little too far. It's difficult to deny attacks on convoys, I'm sure that happened to some degree. But why the need to assassinate or cause political instability when we can just figure things out (scientifically speaking) on our own? Just sayin'.

The one silver lining I see here is that SAGi can give voice to anyone in the galaxy. That is a good thing. An independent and open press is ultimately good for everyone. The publication is of unparalleled quality on many levels, it keeps getting better and better with time. Just know that not all interested parties will be happy with everything that's written in SAGi.

[OOC: so yeah, not hard feelings =)]
