I'm really beginning to think what we need to look for is a lot closer than we think.
Well, let's follow this for a minute: the old woman said it was all in the 'imperial databanks' somewhere... where would the imperial databanks be stored? Achenar?
Kahina was in Capitol on Achenar, after doing whatever she needed to do in Sol.
After that the trail runs cold as she did her disappearing act then turned up as Salomé again, leaving behind her ship 'Seven Veils'.
Next she turns up on the distant worlds expedition (recently at Beagle Point). Is this simply because of 'wanderlust' ... or did they go to Beagle Point for a specific reason related to this?
Do we even know if Kahina/Salomé went anywhere near the rift between these two events?
Given that we can't view anything in the game other than GalNet news, system news and system names, we can only surmise that any clues to what we can find is located in one or all of those sources.
I did a complete tour of Prism, Sol, Avalon and Achenar before leaving the bubble, and apart from system and station naming, couldn't see anything particularly unusual, despite those systems lining up pretty well in the galaxy map in the direction of the RR line (not on the line, but in a line, if you see what I mean

)
There certainly wasn't anything in the system news, and we have pored over the Galnet news relating to Kahina.
System naming in the bubble seems a bit of a flimsy clue - as I can't fathom how the naming would be connected to this, unless it's simply intended as a 'hand of God' celestial kind of clue.
So what we are left with are dates and locations. Why did Kahina visit those precise locations? What did they offer in terms of yielding information? One can assume that historical data can be accessed from anywhere in the galaxy from galacticopedia - so for some reason she had to be physically present in those locations. Unless she was deliberately leaving a trail for us to follow, by carefully choosing places with particular names.
We know Cambridge is close to the meridian line in the UK, which offers a unique vantage point for viewing the northern sky. We also know she was there on the vernal equinox, and didn't want to be late.
Reading up on the Cambridge observatory, I found a reference to saying there is something like a seven second window for viewing the night sky at the high point of the equinox without getting too much light pollution from the sun. What could she have possibly been needing to see that couldn't already be seen from the galactic map?

And what if the ".,.. ......,. ..." is the pattern of a sentence. Replacing dots with letters, commas with apostrophes and spaces with... well, they remain as spaces.
...probably another bad theory, but I was thinking a lot about this particular thing.
I thought that had already been decoded to mean the decryption from e b, P. to 'right on, Commander.' ?
