The Formidine Rift - Part 2

I did manage to get some coordinates of a sort out of GLAROC in the end that were in the HYPHEERB sector near the rift, but nothing has been found there yet. Have a look at my spreadsheet here for some impressive tinfoilery ... Though you might want to wrap me in tinfoil and throw me overboard after looking at that one :D

GLAROC - CORALG - GALCOR - CORGAL - COR???ALG.

Lots of fun with this 'word'.:D

Hmmm so the CoR is turning into the CRows ... Dont forget your vows ...

Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come

The Rift's Watch?.

Is this related to the stuff about exploration becoming more dangerous in 2.1?

I am now at a bit of a quandary about whether I should return and get armed up before going out again. I am nowhere near the core, but would be happy to consider joining you guys/gals out there. My Asp is configured for exploration so is a little light on defences and no guns at all. I am wondering if it might be prudent to change to another ship such as a FDS or FAS. Thoughts ?

Kitty

My thoughts are I can't say this feels particular near the core either!

Still nothing like as far out as some

The watch on the rift continues, would be nice if some of the first discovereds out there returned sold data and went back out so others can follow and not double up on the effort

This is exactly it. We're pawns if anything, used in a greater game that's to be played out to all. We've been thrown a bone after Salomé was essentially dropped by FD last year and pretty much killed off everything the CoR was set up for. Now she's back, we have a purpose. We await the next GalNet articles like everyone else.

I sincerely hope it stays that way.

There are a lot of "rifters" here who are interested in this Mystery but don't particularly want to be involved with much of the "deep roleplaying" going on, and I can tell you right now that any sort of 'information favouritism' will be looked upon with consternation and irritation.

(Not that I'm against others enjoying their roleplaying - just don't smother the Rift thing in great uncomfortable (for non-roleplayers) gobs of it.)

Regards

there are non binding sites and communitys building up around the rift, sirius inc is one, but many of the rifters seem to be resistant to pooling info and resources into one community or two communities cannon being another, EDF comes to mind, having reached out to EDF though their only focus seems to be stealing members from other groups so ive ruled out co operation with them, and the cannon is an elephant in the room that has become a little caught up in being big.

Anyway a gripe around non aligned commanders making things a little more complex by fragmentation and the serach goes on

The rifters Discord channel has a lot of CMDRs in it and we're all about information sharing in a non-tinfoil, non-awkward-roleplaying manner. So no fragmentation is desired nor present there.

Let's not turn the thread in a wrong direction here. We need cooperation and facts to progress.

Welp. This just threw a mega-spanner in the works. You mean I need to kit my ExploraConda for combat? Gaaaaaaaaah...

By the time I've done that it'll probably be over :(

Would it be possible to divide the area of the presumed Rift in chunks? For example 300LY³ pieces. List and name them and then we could choose from the list and not do it twice or more. One easy method could be to put down a system name somewhere all could see and then scan all systems in 300LY bubble then move to another not occupied.

ps. .,.. ......,. ... that line still haunts me. I suggested earlier that it could be a map. Maybe it is, but not in galaxy view.

Three stars system with

star .,..
star ......,.
star ...

bodies, comma been binary.

No - Salomé is basically the equivalent of the Cannon's Palin. But with actual interactivity with players of all factions. And a live in-game presence.

Ha ha. Palin hates the Canonn and has told us to get lost. Salome on the other hand are using the CoR for her own good. She is much better at playing the media game.

I don't think 'something worse than the Thargoids', necessarily means a more dangerous species. It could also mean something 'humanity' did that was worse than the Thargoid genocide in 3151.

Kahina has an idea of what 'it' is and making it public is useful for her purposes.

So FD has not used Palin to feed information to the Cannonn about the UAs? That was my point of equivalency.

The thargoids were wiped out with a human created plague right?

I think we're pretty sure of that.

SO here's my recent tinfoiling - is it related to Cerberus in any way? Did they keep engineering that disease trying to make a selective human killer? Are we uncovering a plot rather than a new enemy?
Or was there another element to the Thargoid war - a super vicious AI that we had to chase away and banish into darkness?

Ah I wanna know
