The squadron leaderboard season finished yesterday and IGAU have managed a consecutive 1st/2nd/3rd in Exploration, and thus completed the set of trophies. Not sure if any other squadron already had the set - I expect so, but pretty sure we're first to do it in consecutive months.
It wasn't plain sailing though. When we got 1st place it came down to the last few seconds before the season finished - we weren't even 100% sure we'd achieved it until the servers came back up! Amusingly, we'd only been pushing for 3rd that season so to pull out 1st was a great achievement. This season wasn't a cakewalk either - an enthusiastic member accidently pushed us into 2nd and we had a couple of weeks watching and hoping for someone to overtake us and at the same time ensuring we didn't slip further than 3rd. Luckily, Hijos Del Caos stepped up with a healthy bid for 2nd spot - (thanks!). Amusingly, with the "no sell" directive lifted, we were back around 3 billion within an hour of the new season starting, and still a decent sized chunk of data to disperse.
Lastly, congratulations to this month's winners with some 48 billion points, a crazy amount - almost the top record ever in the Exploration leaderboard! Pretty sure we'd have to triple or quadruple our numbers to even have a chance to hit anything like those numbers!
I can honestly say I'm glad to be done with the leaderboards and trophies though. It detracts and distracts quite a lot from what I (and I believe most of IGAU) enjoy - actual exploration.
