The Galactic Mapping Project & Historical Archive of Exploration

Just to archive some of the discoveries I made and feel worth to share, don't know if that counts to be entered as POI but anyway, just to make sure that someone will remember.

The most notable are:
  • Ringed Water World in Hypiae Aihm HX-A d14-12
  • Three Water Worlds and multitude (over 5) High Metal Content Worlds in Aidoms OD-T d3-1
  • Three Ammonia Worlds in one system in Formidine Rift near the Zurara derelict ship in Syroifoe YV-U c19-3
  • Water Wrold orbiting Neutron Star in Slegoea VY-S d3-0
  • 2x Ammonia World + 2x Water World + Multitude of High Metal Content Worlds (over 5) in Slegoea MC-V d2-1
  • Water Wrold orbiting Neutron Star in Slegoea OD-K d8-0
  • Water Wrold orbiting Neutron Star in Prai Eorg SX-U d2-0
  • Ammonia World orbiting Neutron Star in Slegoea NM-W d1-0
  • The Floalk Oasis - Earth Like World + 13 High Metal Content Worlds near IGAU Cygni-Vanguard in Floalk MT-G d11-100 https://inara.cz/cmdr-logbook/315650/61676/

But I'm most emotionally bound to this:

Name:The Floalk Oasis
Game map search ref:Floalk MT-G d11-100
Description:A planet, resembling Earth in almost every aspect. Floalk World has atmosphere almost identical to the one on Earth, pressure almost identical and nearly the same gravity. The system located not as far as 250Ly from the location of DSSA IGAU Cygni-Vanguard is a true oasis of itself, containing 13 high metal content worlds, out of which some are good candidates for terraforming. The system contains all the elements needed to fuel jumponium reserves.

Other than the fact that it's 2000 km smaller, has a third of the mass, has 0.72 of the gravity and 0.74 atmospheric pressure, has a hotter surface temperature and a day 1.7 days long and orbits an F Type star in a binary system... it resembles earth in almost every aspect!

I think your criteria for "similar" may need a bit of refining... ;)

Name:Malcolm's World
Game Map Search Ref:Hyuedau LV-Y d34, Planet 4a
Description:This body has eight biological signals, with an atmosphere consisting primarily of water and a surface temperature of 423K. The system primary is a neutron star, first discovered by CMDR Welvax. Named Malcolm's World in honor of Dr. Ian Malcolm, who posited in the late 20th century that "Life, uh, finds a way."

This is a glowing green giant, one of the rarest things in the galaxy! Well done indeed if you found that on your own. However, it is already known - see the GGG thread:

I know, although it is tagged with my name i didn't find it in the first place. Here is a quote from the GGG-threat:

"Here is the explanation for my mistake:

Huiuiui, it's been quite a while since something new came in here :) Had in the meantime nen small elite droop and had to play a few other games, but now it goes again and I'm on the road again ^^ I have my carrier in the bubble filled to the brim and my second account I also have on board. The may then pay the tritium bill in Colonia to refuel the carrier again, then I have to see what I do with the (have only ne transport cutter, with which I come alone not far). I think I'll take it with me until the next opportunity to refill it with tritium, probably somewhere in the middle of nowhere for a moon price ^^ and then I'll probably just blow it up and take the bubble cab. Until then I still have a few Glowing Green Giants on the route and also once again a few flames of the EoT, current target is Salomes Reach. Today I reached the first targeted Glowing Green Giant, Lysoovsky BH-L D8-26. I wasn't really awake yet and just scanned the system as usual, flew to the GGG and ran the surface scanner over it. After that I took my photos as usual and after a quarter of an hour I went back to the carrier. There I had a short chat with the UC-dealer and started the navigation for the next jump. First I opened the system map on the GalMap, and then it jumped out at me - my tag stands at the GGG 8| I immediately checked the English forum and apparently the first person in the forum had not yet submitted his data. To keep the overview I use the extended GGG list from this forum and look from time to time if there is something new. And there this GGG was already listed and I noticed that he was new for me - and if I would have looked at the list completely then I would have seen that this GGG has not yet registered an ingame tag. But as Lothar Matthäus said, would have been bicycle chain, it happened. I wrote to the actual first discoverer directly via the English forum and apologized to him, fortunately he doesn't see it so tragically and told me not to worry (I had suggested to write to FD and ask for a tag change, but I should forget it). So I am now in the quite curious situation that I am tagged at a GGG as a first discoverer although I actually have not discovered the planet at all as the first :S Pictures attached, other POI I have visited come later when I have sorted everything again and know which pictures I have already posted.

Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)"

But apart from that i think it would be a nice POI at all =)

That system is not in EDSM. Let us know when it is.

Hey guys, little heads up. https://www.edsm.net/en/system/id/34217303/name/Byaa+Airm+JM-W+f1-744

This entry is mistaken as the jet cone is a white dwarf and not a neutron cone. The main difference is obviously the exclusion zone regarding both cones are different, specially in Odyssey where the animation is different. So a minor correction could be specifying this is a white dwarf jet cone boost instead of a neutron star jet cone?

I would appreciate it for the safety of other explorers, since they are in classification, different types of jet cones.

I've taken the task of giving a preview of a fixed entry. Including the correct designation of Jet cone boost and an extended warning.

I also included an updated picture from Elite Dangerous Odyssey.

As a fun note, I got that picture because the entry wrongly told me that is was an entry neutron jet, contrary to a white dwarf jet, similar but different things altogether. When I discovered in the hard way that the information was in fact, misleading. I fortunately survived the encounter. :) I'm preparing a document with many more updated POI pictures, from entries lacking any picture reference altogether. So more to come!

We really appreciate the work, but could you please submit the updated text by itself so we can update the entry with it?

It was suggested I report this tiny little body to the GMP.

A radius of 489klms, an atmospheric density of 0.05 atmospheres and ten bio signals (12 slots in the new bio register though) It's unusually small to have such a dense atmosphere and it has the highest number of bio signals I have yet seen (9 being my previous record) so it may be worth noting. Of course it's early stage in Odyssey so this may turn out to be quite common, or it may not.

That is outstanding! Could you put that into an official submission?

Greetings Commanders,

In view of the new rules laid down by EDO, I would like to submit this proposal to you below, knowing that for the moment it is complicated to determine whether this will be rare or common in the future.

Name:Mount Pallas
Game map search ref:System: Heart Sector YJ-A c9
Planet: A 5
Description:Discovered during the Artemis Biological Survey expedition, this particular mountain range can be seen from space. At very high altitudes, the icy pole of the planet can be seen surrounded by the mountain barrier, which ends in a singular peak rising above the horizon, crossing two different biological biomes.
It reaches a height of over 9 kilometres. From the top, we can clearly see the different features of the planet. However, this is only accessible with a small ship. On the other side is a dark plain as far as the eye can see. But, if you look up to the sky you can see a beautiful starry sky and Heart and Soul nebulae.

Located on a high metal content stellar body, the surface temperature varies between 116k and 227k. Atmosphere type is carbon dioxide (99.0% carbon dioxide and 1.0% sulphur dioxide). It is composed of three different exobiological species but rather common in worlds of the same type (Tussock Ignis, Stratum Tectonicas, Bacterium Aurasus).

Named Mount Pallas in reference to Greek mythology. Pallas was one of the Gigantes (Giants), the offspring of Gaia, born from the blood of Uranus. According to the mythographer Apollodorus, during the Gigantomachy, the cosmic battle of the Giants with the Olympian gods, he was flayed by Athena.
If you fall from above, there is a risk of flaying. Caution should be exercised.

My pleasure.

Located 2000 LYs above the border of Inner Scutum-Centaurus Arm and Norma Arm, this Black Hole, closely orbited by a White Dwarf and farther two Neutron Stars was discovered during the Distant Worlds 2 Expedition.

The entry point of this can be hazardous as its possible to hypercruise through one of the white dwarf jets when exiting the hyperspace sequence - explorers beware of the large exclusion zone!

As this Black Hole orbits the White dwarf its slowly sipping life with each orbit.

I'll include the updated picture of the site. Did you found the view of the black hole and the white dwarf from afar interesting?

It's from my previous post.
Is from the same system. Landable ringed body 115k ls away. To this day I have never known of a landable body where you could clearly see the distortion of a black hole from such a far distance.

Thank you for making this a safer place.

Thanks; updated and added to the update list. I think we'll hold off on updating the photo since it will likely be affected by future Ody lighting updates.
