Ice worlds are in a generally better state than most of these rocky planets. And landing in the morning or evening (i.e. near the day/night terminator line) tends to produce much more pleasing lighting and texture appearance than coming down where the illuminating star is high overhead.

But it's the same even on icy worlds right now. Hopefully this is all just an LOD blending issue:

Ideal for some pleasing abstract shots, less ideal for realistic planets 😂
 Looks like No Man's Sky

I see I'm far from the first but wow ... getting out of the ship in the SRV and then getting out of the SRV on foot ... it's quite a special moment isn't it!

And of course ... had to be done!

This vegetation tho' ... is it just me or is it waaaaaaaaaaaaay too abundant. The flippin' stuff is EVERYWHERE!

Vegetation should only be at bio signals. I really, really hope it's just the Alpha why it's popping up everywhere. Uhm, does this also happen on non-atmospheric worlds?

Because it's already unrealistic that it's there at all. Microbial life, okay, plants? Nope.
"Grounded in reality and science" means they should at least reduce the growth to a few spots on those planets.
The planets we can currently land on are supposed to be a bit like Mars with even thinner atmosphere.

I mean it's in the Lore that life was abundant when we first ventured out into the galaxy. I've always been a little disappointed that there's been so little.

Although it does seem to be everywhere in the alpha!
Where is that in the lore?
There was life found on earth like planets where life was possible and all. It didn't say that there was life on any planet with some atmosphere. That's a bit too much. We also wouldn't need to take any samples if it's literally everywhere...
