The ground is (still) a lie!?

A year or so ago I was getting many, many (many), issues with planet surfaces in ED.

It'd often seem like the physical and graphical surface of a planet weren't quite in the same place and, as a result, my SRV would appear to sink into the surface.
On more spectacular occasions, there'd be mountains that I could fly a ship through or gaps in a planets surface that I could use to fly a ship inside a planet (which was fun) or my SRV would fall through and be destroyed (which was not fun).

I solved this problem in the usual manner.
I stopped playing for a few months, until FDev's bug-fixing minions took action.
When I started playing again, the problem seemed to have vanished.

Just decided to unlock Chloe Sedeci (though I dunno why. I only ever use DDs).
Went to a 'goid crash site to collect Sensor Fragments, shot some sensors, they floated up off the ground, came back down... and disappeared through the surface, never to be seen again.
Fortunately, there are a few Sensor Fragments lying around, which seemed happy to sit on the surface rather than disappear underneath it, for me to collect.

It's been a while since I needed any Raw mat's.
I hope they're not going to start disappearing into the planet surfaces.
That'd be really irritating.

Anybody else getting this issue?
Is it a known thing?

I've only ever had this issue with other players in the same instance.

Switching to solo fixed the problem.

Are you in open?

I was, yes, but there wasn't anybody else around. 🤷‍♂️

+EDIT+

On a vaguely related note, I see the invite for Chloe Sedeci tells me I need to bring stuff to "Witch Head Sector DL-Y D17" but when I type that into the galmap I get directed to "Shenve".
Assuming WHS DL-Y D17 has been renamed "Shenve", FDev might want to update the text on the invite to avoid confusion.

I still get a minor issue every now and then, when taking off from planet surfaces. I set to hyper jump to a different system and my target destination is through a mountain and I can still charge the frame shift and jump while the target destination clearly obscured.

It si usually a grapical thing, had it happen to me long time ago then I upgraded and havent seen that happen again. I'm on PC though.

This would occur very often in the past years, land on a planet, travel and the ground would suddenly be above me.. It was a glitch.

Has happened on and off for me since Horizons and has never been completely resolved. It does appear to have something to do with the terrain generation system and restarting the game, clearing the GPUWorkTable and shader cache, or changing one's terrain work settings can usually clear it up...but it always comes back eventually.

In that special case with the Thargoid sensors halfway clipping into the ground and the vanishing fragments after destruction of the sensor...

In my case it was very helpful to scoop up the sensor and drop it on the ground so its position was sort of resetted. 🤷‍♂️

The ground is an enigmatic beast. Best not to trust it.

Seen the same thing exactly, but only ever happened with the sensor fragments at the crash site so yes, can confirm.
