I`m using hud colors that match the light blue monitors in many ships (more or less). It´s much less fatiguing for me than the standard orange or the dark blue like in OPs post.

Colours are always a personal taste. ^^

I was using this one before but it turned friendly into red :/

I've actually been wanting to share my HUD for awhile now. It's a lavender with a tealish station UI. Friendlies are green. Hostiles are a dark purple that is easily identifiable. Wakes are a light blue and wing members are unmistakable (no wing in the screenshots). It took me many hours to get the color combinations right so that the outfitting, station UI and primary HUD were all usable, easy on the eyes and purple.

Thats interesting, I've tried a few colours, but I haven't gotten one that I can clearly distinguish enemies. while liking the rest of the colours.
i might give that one a go
+1 rep :)

HUD UI Colour

Please can we have an in game HUD UI editor

I know we can change config files, but if that's true, then can we have it ingame, it shouldn't be hard, and would prevent any crashing...

Readability is excellent on it. I'd prefer the parts that were red to be more red, but you can't do that without bringing most of the yellow back.

I very much agree with this. Sadly it was a compromise but it also wasn't too terrible due to the fact that the color is differentiated enough where it matters but still readable. Thank you, and I'm glad you like it. :)

I tried it once, but all was blue.
Even the target. For example, the station what should be green was also blue.

How did you manage this?

Followed Aidan's suggestion, but how do I get enemies to show up in red, without altering any of the other colours e.g. friendly?

Cheers

Currently using the following:

<MatrixRed> 0, 0.5, 1 </MatrixRed>
<MatrixGreen> 0, 0.8, 0 </MatrixGreen>
<MatrixBlue> 1, 0, 0 </MatrixBlue>

Cheers

Same here please

I don't believe you can. The colour matrix isn't actually specifying the HUD colours in absolute terms, it just adjusts them relative to the defaults defined in the game...orange HUD, red enemies, green friendlies.

Orange is red + green (RGB values 255, 128, 0). So in order to change the orange HUD to something else you're most likely going to be subtracting the red. That will affect all colours that contain red on the HUD, you can't be selective.
-
It's a shame they implemented it this way, it would be nice to be able to define the main HUD colours and highlights separately, rather than just manipulating the existing colour palette.
-
At least, that's my understanding of how it works.

(how the hell do you get new paragraphs in this editor??)

I was tinkering around with HUD colours, but I can't seem to make a green HUD that doesn't lose contrast on the radar (I think it's hostiles and neutrals that all appear the same).

Woah another purple lover? I have had a purple interface with a purple Vulture for some time now.
