Not sure why ADHD would make you put drinks on your computer but either way maybe you ought to buy a case without a flat top or any holes in it while your fixing the rest of it and then it can't happen again if your condition makes it likely.

My friends has a rule... no eating or drinking anywhere near his computer. Sounds a little extreme... I get thirsty often. But I don't use open cups anymore.. I use shaker cups that I also take to the gym. They have a little pop-up top that closes securely. That way if you knock it over... no harm-no foul. But having said that.. even if you DID use open cups.. why in the world would it be on top of your computer?
I don't even remember doing it. ADHD is a manly condition, but always an annoying one too
It's also completely made up by the pharmaceutical companies. But that's another topic entirely.
Not sure where you live in the world, but I did the exact same thing and my Insurance replaced my custom built PC as it was 'Accidental Damage' (built it myself, had to show receipts for the parts used)
I then got a NZXT H440 case, as the entire top is solid.
having given things time to dry, have you tried to power on yer mobo? since you said things went black in the oculus I know its a long shot but the gods may smile upon you. try removing the CMOS battery and give it a good washing in ISO..you may get lucky.... #PCLIVESMATTER
Thanks for the impromptu counselling session mate, yes I'm getting a case as you recommended.
ADHD makes your entire life a series of unconscious actions, some end up being great, some tragic
Thanks, alas, I've had to put the CPU upgrade on backburner so I've gone for an old 1155 board, which turns out to be a blessing because the top of the range for them is really cheap now. It's an Asus, who I hear do the best mobos from PC Gamer and various other sources. Not sure about their RMA plan but I plan to upgrade to 1150 in the near future anyway.what mobo did you go with? and what did you have?..If you have to replace the card, go with MSI they have the BEST rma policy around. you simply request an rma, send your part and receive a new one or a to-date version at the same price point.
It may sound crazy, but I also keep to all these safety measures, religiously. I do slip from time to time due to unconscious action, and this is the one time I slipped and it resulted in disaster. I guess I'll try to do better in the future, perhaps this is the equivalent of popuptoaster (aka pops) and his childhood of discipline. I've been slapped across the face and hopefully that will kick my subconscious into line...Suckd maan, ive placed my comp so its higher up than my hotas stands and dont allow anything on top of the case.
As for keeping my dk2 safe i always put it back in its box which sits next to the comp when i leave my chair, if im still sitting i can put the dk2 on my hotas stand since there isnt any risk i will trip on the wire and have it fall to the floor.
For drinks while rifting i always put them to my right where i have to reach för them, havnt had a spill yet with three weeks of rift ownership.
Hope you get stuff sorted as painlessly as possible.
