Things sure have changed with interdictions. A change occurred for me day before yesterday when an interdiction took place on my way to a star port that was just over 10,000 ls from the star. I play in solo, if that means anything, but the NPC attempted to interdict me 9 or 10 times in rapid succession. Yesterday the same thing happened and the attempted interdiction occurred repeatedly right up to very near the entry of the starport that I was traveling to. Once into the no fire zone local security began to attack the NPC. The NPC was in a clipper that I nearly collided with when I dropped out of super cruse at the starport. Things sure have changed in SOLO!

Did something change with interdictions? It seems 99% harder to get out of, I have yet to be able to with NPCs even. Seems like a drastic change. Also the number of NPC interdictions has gone way up.

For me, it's killing the joy of the game. I'm playing in MOBIUS, getting constantly interdicted, and cant get out of it for the life of me. I just got stopped by an NPC anaconda and a vulture. They demanded I drop my cargo, I did, and yet they tore me apart. I didn't stand a chance, even though I did what they asked.

I know some people want it harder, and that's fine. Go to open play where you can play with people that want to be d*cks. Bringing open play npc greifing to groups and solo, is just going to drive people away from the game.

I hope they can fix and balance it.

I have not found interdictions that hard. Once you fiddle around with the throttle it makes them nearly as easy as 1.3. I was testing escaping out and I managed to escape 8/9 attempts. That is pretty fair. I also am not getting constantly interdicted. I do PP so I get those extra PP ones but standard interdictions are still pretty rare.

I have been out exploring since well before the update so I haven't actually experienced the change in the n interdictions.
i have read a lot of complaints on here though.
If the frequency has increased and difficulty increased a bunch too......
it sounds like it is going to be rather disruptive to the general gameplay as a whole.

im not looking forward to coming home.... Whenever that will be...

Interdiction in 1.4 seems to be all over the place. Sometimes it seems like the old tricks in 1.3 work, other times I see instant fails. I don't know whether it's mechanical, or if the system is far too vulnerable to the effects of latency, or what's going on.

All I can say for certain is that Interdiction may as well be a completely random result for all the practical influence I seem to be having on the outcome in 1.4. Whatever the reason, it's not good. Not good at all.

EDIT: I was actually denied entry to Founders because of a single NPC that was able to spam Interdictions without any sort of noticeable cooldown being in place. I gave up trying to get there in the end. I must admit, the game is less enjoyable.

NPC ships sitting spinning and just doing nothing not a problem?
NPC ships crashing into asteroids and each other due to failed navigation not a problem?
NPC ships interdicting or messaging saying they are going to boil you and not firing a shot even though they have weapons?
Interdiction mechanics have some issues under investigation as well

so yeah... there are some bugs :D

I'll take option 6, but they need to tone it down a wee bit more than a wee bit. :p

Among the issues listed above FD needs to look into NPC pirates demanding cargo from players without cargo and/or cargo holds.

We clearly need the unshielded t9 easy mode - I thought this was supposed to be Euro Truck Simulator in Space? PvE is way too hard right now, the NPC deal way too much damage for me to log out within 15 seconds if I can't submit hop, sometimes even enough to make it impossible for me to kill the ED process in time!

Had to check your post history to make sure you were being sarcastic. :p

I managed to fight off a few interdictions today, but I am in my FAS fun bus.
The last one was an Anaconda, I beat it.... And it stayed in super cruise! Yepnall big red and angry at me for winning! It followed me into the drop point of the station the jpwd out as I boosted into gun range of the station.
Weird NPCs!

Interdiction are ruining this game for me.

I only started playing a little over a month back and had been having a lot of fun. I've been trying out all the various types of things to do in the game (combat, mining, missions, trade, PP). I wanted to try exploring but it seems the latest patch broke that so I've been holding off till that is fixed and till I can get my ASP fully outfitted for exploration. In the mean time I've been trying to make some money trading.

Before this week, I only had two ships destroyed.

Today I have to sale my Asp, because I can no longer afford to it. I've been destroyed several times, loosing millions in cargo and ship re-buy cost. The last run I did I didn't even fill my cargo hold b/c I knew if I bought anymore I wouldn't have been able to re-buy my ship. And sure enough I was interdicted. I kept with in the escape vector ring for a good long time... but that seems to (now) just stop the blue bars from sinking as fast... there doesn't seem to be any way for me to actually escape. Sure before it was a snap to escape, but now, now matter how hard I try the blue sinks and the red climbs. I try to run after I am pulled out, but it is no use.

So now I have less than 10K credits, and no cargo to sale. I'm selling my Asp.

Elite went from being a fun game that I was just obsessing about... to just a source of frustration.

New interdiction change has made black box contracts IMPOSSIBLE to complete now

I wanted to go up in Fed ranking so I finally snagged one up that was a blackbox hunt, went to the system and instantly I am being harassed SECONDS into SC by the feds, I submit, let the scan happen, SC out, not 5 seconds AFTER ENTERING SC, the SAME NPC interdicts me AGAIN, forever, I can't even stay in SC long enough for ANYTHING to pop up to even pretend to look for beacons....this is just plain idiotic.

Not that I'm one to complain, and I've been happy with the game so far, I've not had any problems with it since beta. But now I'm seriously getting beeped off with these interdictions.
Before 1.4 I could happily trade or mine in my T9 maybe i'd be interdicted once or twice, even if i was caught it wasn't too bad to get away.
Now like you say, 5 seconds into supercruise, interdictation. I submit, then SC out. 5 seconds later interdictation. Rinse and repeat over and over with 1 or 2 NPC's.
Log out. Log in try again. Same thing.
I moved to solo to get away from players interdicting me. I'm not interested in the multiplayer harassing/interaction/RP, I'm here for the game alone. I'm in solo and I'm now being interdicted more than those real people. It's not fun any more. It's a complete ball ache and I'm now sick of it.
It's not as if I'm even in the middle of the bubble, I'm at Sothis about 400Ly from the main bubble itself.
I'm going to log in and try and get the 21.5Mm left to the station....Lo and behold at 3.93Mm left, I get the message that someone is going to interdict me. That's gotta be some kind of record right? It took 14 seconds and 17.57Mm to be warned I'm going to be interdicted.
Luckily enough, he never got the chance to get me as I dropped at the station before he could start...though he popped out right next to me as was approaching to station. Lucky he didn't start shooting at me disregarding all station defenses, as happened to me earlier on where a stupid NPC was trying to get me, i drop at a station and he starts attacking before being promptly swarmed by cops. Seriously? NPC's are now going for suicide by cop?

Ok, rant over. I'm going to bed. Maybe I'll feel less annoyed in the morning to try again.

Ok. I'm not being afflicted by this but really I care about this experience and Frontier, you need to adjust this. Too many errors in too short a period. You are losing your audience.

I had trouble with a persistent NPC pirate. My suggestion is 'high wake' out to a different system then return. It worked for me.

I have a feeling the chances of another fed ship of whatever type just instantly spawning upong jumping back into the system and insta-interdicting is pretty damn high so I just said 'eff that, not wasting time on these contracts if this stays like this'. It really wouldn't have been SO bad had the same npc not spawned directly into the sc after I left. Hell, WHY am I 'being scanned for potential smuggling' when I JUST GOT THERE is what really irked me the most.

I agree. I have owned the game ALMOST 2 months. I just started to really like it. Something has completely broken with the NPC interdictions. The game is ruined for me. I would like a refund please.
