Knowing FD they made a drastic change without thinking too much about it... It will be eased a bit ... Not tooooo much I hope, there has to be some 'dangerous' in Elite :p

That might make sense were it not for the fact that the NPCs in question are glued to your ass.. and by that I mean the second you re-enter supercruise you are interdicted again. So I engage my FSD.. it starts..counts down.. then jumps.. that takes what.. 6-8 seconds? So the NPCs are exempt from this? Not to mention they physically follow you if you jump to supercruise wait a second then immediately exit supercruise.. nothing is even on my map.. and yet.. magically.. there they are.

This wasn't an issue in any version of the game I've played yet. Evasion used to be easier as well.. as in I never had a problem evading even in a type 9. Now however, I get boosted into the red while my reticule is mostly blue! ANd this.. since this just happened is my favorite.. got stopped by the same guy 3 times.. said F it.. and jumped to another system... guess who was waiting for me when I got there???????

I dont know if you have taken part in any trader CG, but plenty of people complained about this behavior from cmdrs. Maybe NPC do it one or two seconds faster, but being chain-interdicted was always a risk. The only difference is that now NPCs can annoy the heck out of you as well. Btw, what ship are your flying? And is your interdiction mini-game smooth or do you have the vector jump about and such weird things? The interdiction is supposed to be more difficult, but some people are experiencing technical issues/bugs that make the interdiction seemingly much harder than intended, to the point of being impossible. FD said they are investigating. If this is (part of) the problem at least rest assured it is not intended to happen. :)

Happens to me too all the time now. It's killing the fun of the game for me.

Yesterday, I got pulled out by two npcs. They told me to drop my cargo, and I did. They then shredded me. I didn't stand a chance.

I've been playing this game for four weeks, and I'm wondering if I made a mistake buying it.

I was in a refitted ASP giving some of the smuggling missions a go for giggles. No weapons. I'd done a few of these in the past prior to 1.4 and was seeing if they'd improved. Before.. if I failed the interdiction or just couldn't be bothered trying I just submitted and boosted away until I was off cooldown. Then jumped to supercruise and continued on my way. A very very small percentage of ship would try and go for me twice.. but there was usually a window between the interdictions.. which often put me very close to my destination.

This however is something else entirely. Running used to be an option.. I kind of enjoyed booting in my cobra an laughing as a Python or heavier ship tried to catch up.. I felt good about getting away with it. It seems that option is gone now. Unless you turn and fight you (or at least me) will be interdicted again and again and again until you give up and combat log.. where up re-entering the game and going to cruise will just spawn an different NPC waiting to interdict you, or jump to another system.. where often the same NPC you just ran from is there waiting.

I don't mind being interdicted.. I really don't. If done right it adds a lot of immersion to the game. before this post I was hit by a system authority with a message that read "smuggling suspect identified, moving to investigate". I love that. Oddly enough I was actually able to evade that one. Other NPCs however.. even when the reticule is mostly in the blue I fail to evade. I don't know it that's lag or a bug or if I need to be dead center 100% of the time now but I cannot remember this ever being an issue prior to 1.4.

Anyway.. I needed a place to vent.. being hit that many times was infuriating. I finally gave up the ASP and grabbed my Python battle trader. It takes 2-3times as many jumps to get where I'm going but woe to any ship that stops me now. I just had so much fun smuggling with smaller ships.

FIX interdiction teleporting

Interdicted 2Mm away from station.

Submitted successfully to interdiction 732km away from station.

Dropped into normal space 12.7Ls from station.

Not even debatable, just a straight up bug/defect. ><

It's because when you get interdicted it pulls you to them rather than the logical way of pulling them to you. Thereby contracting the space behind them as it should

As above it probably won't change but we can hope

Then they need to cap the interdiction spam. Either drop me out by the station i was at, or stop them from Re-Interdicting me as I Re-cross the same space i had already crossed before being magically interdiction-teleported ><

Talk about broken.

It's frickin annoying is what it is. Being pulled out of SC is one thing, having to travel the same space all over again really gets my goat, especially when I was lining up nice on a station approach.

Got interdicted 1.5Mm from station. Ended up 200-odd LS away, on the opposite side of the flipping star. I can live with suicidal pirates. I can live with them appearing out of nowhere. I can live with them zeroing in on me and interdicting from colossal distances. Just please stop them yanking me backwards!

If they want a fight, let them warp to my location. I refuse to believe that there is an insurmountable technical reason why this cannot be the case.

Interdictions are easy : tricks and tips

So here are what I recomend doing.

-What grade of Interdictor do you have? better class , better rank = easy interdictions
-Manage your power distrubution ; when in interdiction all pips to engine.
-when you are turning in the interdiction tunnel throttle down into the blue zone
-when you are in the escape vector set throttle to 100%

so what you need to do :
-all pips to engine
-throttle down to blue when turning
-throttle to the max when in the escape vector

Fly Safe

So what you're saying is, even if the reticle is bang on and no increase in the blue bar(after 10 seconds), i have to have pips to engine and throttle to max to interdict target.

You need to put throttle to 100% when you are on the escape vector and I think power to engines helps but I cant tell (but so far I have not failed a single interdiction but they have been a bit more close than before , in the past I would not even bother with throttle management)

I've flown by your rules and others not mentioned since before 1.4 and I still have issues where I cannot interdict many Elite targets. This is with my cross-hair dead-center on the target. Glad to hear at least one person isn't having trouble, though.

I would probably add that you would also need a proper HOTAS setup (or at least a decent joystick).

It will be very hard using mouse and keyboard with the new interdiction model.

Since the interdiction debacle in 1.4 was introduced, there have always been a minority of players who's problems are minimal or manageable.
It's not safe at this point to assume your solution or technique will work for everyone, especially those whose problems represent the extreme behavior.
There is an unknown combination of factors which complicates Interdictions for both instigator and recipient, particularly when NPC are involved.
If you are one of those minimally unaffected, just consider yourself lucky the change happened while you had a favorable ship/equipment/rank configuration.

If I were to attempt to paint with a wide brush based on trying to interpret if complainers are talking about inability to interdict or to escape one (many people use the same
description for both operations) I would guess of those who try to interdict NPC, about 50% are having more trouble than is comfortable in balanced play.
Of those being interdicted by NPC, I speculate 70-80% are very uncomfortable with the current operation.
